Zuzanna Johnson (née Šárovcová)

November 11, 2022

With courage and perseverance, Zuzanna Johnson struggled for the last several years with multiple systems atrophy and then myelofibrosis. It is with heavy hearts that we announce Zuzanna’s passing on Friday, November 11, 2022.

Faithful wife of Gary Johnson. Beloved mother of Darin Johnson (wife Tess Mayne) and Zach Johnson (fiancée Vanessa Neves). Precious Grandma to Eric and Sam Johnson. Predeceased by her parents, Otokar Šarovec and Milada Šárovcová (nee Ceralová). Baby sister to Eva Vosiková (late husband Karel Vosika) and aunt to Zuzana Podhajská. She will be forever in the hearts of her family.

We wish to acknowledge the efforts of the staff at peopleCare Oakcrossing Long Term Care and thank them for the care provided to Zuzanna and the family. Zuzanna was a proud Canadian and Czech citizen. She was a dedicated member of the London Chorus Sweet Adelines. She also worked as a systems analyst at Western University for approximately 20 years. To honour Zuzanna’s wishes, there will be no service. Please privately celebrate Zuzanna’s memory in your own ways. She will be with us all in spirit.

Gary, Darin, and Zach, our deepest condolences in the loss of Zuzanna. It broke our hearts to hear of her passing. When she returned to work as a young Mom, I met her and Gary who gave me the privilege of caring for a young Darin. She was extremely proud and full of love for him. She adored hearing about his day! Regrettably, we didn’t keep in touch but have many happy memories of her. She remains in our heart, may cherished memories help you through this difficult time. With sincere sympathy Sheila and Doug Thompson

I worked with Zuzanna at Western many moons ago and she was very often in my thoughts over the years. I credit Zuzanna who was part of a great group of peers being instrumental in setting me up for my professional success with her guidance and mentoring. We had some great times back then. My condolences to Gary, Darin, and Zack.

I knew Zuzanna from London Sweet AdelInes. She was a dedicated member and always took the time to not only ask how you were but to tell you something about her family, the family she was very proud of. My sympathy to all.

I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to Gary, Darin, Zach and the rest of their family in the passing of Suzanna. As a personal support worker at Peoplecare, I had the pleasure of caring for Suzanna. She was a calm and pleasant lady who I’m sure will be greatly missed.

I am happy that I met and worked with Zuzanna at The University of Western Ontario since 1990. She was the first person who came to talk to me when I joined DAS (Department of Administrative Systems) at UWO in 1990. I will always remember her smiles, kindness and friendliness. When she was on maternity leave with her second son Zach, I visited her, Gary, Darin and Baby Zach in their house. Their dog barked at me when I tried to get closer to her baby Zach. I did not dare to get close to the baby after that. We all had wonderful memories of that visit. Zuzanna and I went out for movies, dinners and walks in Springbank Park, even after she left UWO. She was a good person, a good colleague and a good friend. She will be dearly missed. I will always remember her and treasure our friendship.

I have very fond memories of Zuzanna and our time together at Western. It seems like just yesterday we were hashing out and testing conversion logic. Darin, Zach, Gary - Zuzanna spoke often of her boys, she was always so very proud of you all. My sincerest condolences.

~ Sue

Zuzanna and I met when we worked together at Western, but we became great friends when we decided to join Sweet Adelines London Chorus together. We carpooled each week and sang our hearts out. We were roommates when attending competitions, and sang together in a quartet each Valentines Day. Along with our friend and colleague Teng, we celebrated our three January birthdays together each year with girls night out for dinner and a movie.
