Yvonne Patricia Deane

October 1, 2011

Peacefully on October 1st, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, Yvonne Patricia Deane (née Moore) passed away at Extendicare Nursing Home, London.  Yvonne was in her 81st year.  Predeceased by her husband John (1999).  Loving mother of Chris (Kelli), of Stoney Creek, Mike (Lynne), Jeff and Susan, all of London.  Caring grandmother of Sarah, Lauren, Alex, Stephanie, Justin, Kristin, Caitlyn, Jason and Ayden.  Great grandmother to Blake.  Predeceased by grandson Matthew (1988), parents Harold and Ida Moore and brother Peter, of Cambridge, England.  Yvonne was an avid Blue Jays fan (never missed a game!), enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word jumbles, and also loved singing in the choir.  She will be sadly missed by her fellow church members and friends.  The memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Extendicare.  Also many thanks to Dr. Shoesmith and the ALS team at LHSC.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated.

Steve & I were friends of Chris for many years when he worked in London with Steve. We had many good parties together . While I never met your mother Chris, I know she meant the world to you. My sincere sympathies are with you at this time. Shirley Cosman

Susan and family, Words cannot express my deepest sympathy for you during this sad time. I have gotten to know your mom over the last few years and truly enjoyed her company. Her pride in her grandchildren was apparent when your kids walked in the room and there was an instant smile on her face. I saw her adoration and love for you over the years but especially when you were caring for her in your home this last few months …I saw you read to her, care for her, make her laugh and the genuine love that was reciprocated between you two. I often questioned how you did it…and there was never any doubt in your mind that this is what you wanted and needed to do for her… Please find comfort in the memories you have shared, that she is not suffering anymore and knowing your mom…she is waiting to cheer on the Jays at the next game…. Find strength in the fact that you have so many friends who are thinking of you and truly love and care for you.
