With family by his side, at Highview Residences on Sunday, December 6, 2015, Mr. William Mowbray “Mow” Sifton, of London, in his 92nd year. Husband of the late Doris (née Flanagan) Sifton (2013). Loving Dad of Glen Sifton (Donna), Sherene Davidson (John), Carol Robertson (Doug), Paul Sifton and Richard Sifton (Sandy). Proud Grandpa of Karen, Tyler, Tim, Geordan, Matthew, Michael, Melinda, Sarah, Victoria and Cameron; and Great-Grandpa of Jasmine, Jayme and Beatrice. Predeceased by his sister Betty Mustard, and grandson Jesse Davidson (2009). Mowbray, as the President and Chairman of Sifton Properties, played a significant role in the development of London and area, in particular the Oakridge, Westmount and Berkshire communities. He was passionate about giving back to the community and was the founder of the Sifton Family Foundation. Mow had a long and productive life and will be missed by many. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. A private family service will be held, with the Rev’d Canon Dr. Kevin George officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mow may be made to Jesse’s Journey or the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex.

In reading the book Bricks and Mortar, the Sifton family is responsible for building approximately 20% of our beautiful city, this realized, Sifton was the mortar. The remaining Pullen family was saddened today when I was advised of Mowbray's passing. Joan and I extend our deepest sympathy at this most difficult time of life. Our first meeting was in 1950 when we moved in next door to your parents. What genuinely special neighbors and friends they became to my family. First Glen and then Sherene came into your family and how proud your Mom and Dad were as your family grew and grew. Your grandfather was still with Sifton Construction and your Dad worked hard on the job early each day till late dinner time, back in those days. Since moving to the United States, we still kept in touch, as the mark left on our lives by your parents was both sincere and deep in our hearts.
