William Burt
June 26, 2013
April 30th, 1997, Bill passed away on his favorite spot, the golf course. On June 26th, 2013, after enjoying 16 more years with family, life and his Corvair, Bill has gone to be with his parents Robert and Gertrude (Wood) Burt and his brothers Robert, Walter and Ronald. Beloved husband of Georgina (Wilkey) Burt. Loving father of Dann and Aradhana Burt, and Erin Burt and Gerry Sherman. Wonderful Poppa to Mitchell and Sydney Burt, Taylor, Dalton and Jordan Sherman, Tracy and Paul Reid, and Callie, Cody and Dustin Wright. Bill has left behind his youngest brother Gerald and wife Karen Burt. Bill enjoyed many years of golf at Highland Golf Club, as well as the years of driving his 1965 Yellow Corvair, with “UNSAIF” plates, and having Mitchell and Dann with their own Corvairs, attending many Sunday night Cruises together. We would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff of University Hospital, Cardiac 6th floor, and Dialysis Team, 3rd floor, for the personal care and concern they showed to Bill for the past 2 1/2 months, and to friends who have supported us throughout this time. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a Celebration of Bill’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cardiac Fitness Program, Attention Dr. Larry Patrick at the London Health Sciences Foundation. Sixteen years ago, after Bill described his “seeing the light, but not being able to ‘open the door’”, his grandson asked “Why did God send you back? What did the clouds feel like when you floated through them? And – Did it hurt when you hit the ground?” Sixteen years later, we say “Rest in Peace Poppa”.

Georgina and Family, we were saddened to learn of the passing of your husband and father , Bill. We have fond memories of Bill as a happy, fun loving member at Highland. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.
I met Bill about 2 years ago. He welcomed me into his family with open arms and treated me with love and compassion. He is like a grandfather to me and though he is greatly missed I am glad that he can rest in peace knowing that everyone loves him I want to thank Bill and his family for all of their compassion and kindness and let them all know that I love everyone of them. Thank-You Bill for the unforgettable memories and love you have provided me with. Love Jennifer
When I meet Mr.Burt I already knew of the great man he was. He treated my daughter as if she was family. The whole Burt family must take after him what a role model he was. "If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together...there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think, but the most important thing is, even if we're apart...I'll always be with you." A quote I believe he would agree with. The world is missing a great man,but God is gaining a great soldier
I will never forget Mr Burt and how he ALWAYS came to my rescue. IF he only knew half the stuff Erin and I used to do... well oh boy would we be in trouble! lol My greatest memory of him was the day I crashed my parent's car and the Burt's instantly said to my parents... 'joe, not to worry we will fix it!' and he did. lol he gave me a picture of an old beat up car and I carried that proudly for years... my badge of honor from a man that loved me just as much as my own father! I will forever smile when I think of you Mr. Burt, and don't worry, my dad will take good care of you! love, DaleAnn
Bill was a great mentor to me back in the old AP Parts days,God Bless!
