William ‘Bill’ Barbour

Peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Beloved husband of Wendy. Loving father of Kim (Tom Charteris) and Brad (Edyn Marshall). Adored grandpa to Craig and Caroline Charteris and Brennan and Liam Barbour, and Mckinley Sutton. Survived by brother, Alec (Rita) and nephews, Stuart and Andrew Barbour. Predeceased by wife, Caroline (1991).

Born in Dundee, Scotland and emigrated to Canada at 18 years of age with $37 in his pocket. Bill proudly served the London Fire Department for 37 years and retired as a Platoon Chief. He was an accomplished drummer and member of the London Police Pipes and Drums Band. He was an avid golfer as well.

Visitation to be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Registration will be required to attend the visitation or the service as well as proof of double vaccination upon entering the funeral home.

To Bill's family --- I know you understand what a kind and caring man Bill was and I enjoyed many golf trips and games with Bill in Myrtle Beach. He was missed when his health prevented him from attending Myrtle and he will continue to be missed by his many friends.

Wendy, I am so sad to hear that your Bill got away. I will forever picture him in Toronto, joining a group of us women going to see some musical. Saddened to learn of Bill’s passing.Met Bill in 1976 ,with the Police Pipe Band.He always had a few jokes or wise cracks to help maintain a happy environment.
