William ‘Bill’ Andrew Paul McLeod

February 14, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of William ‘Bill’ Andrew Paul McLeod, 75, of London, Ontario, announces his passing on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Victoria Hospital. Bill is survived by his wife, Gail (née Dolbear), of 52 years; his son, Shawn; his daughter, Jennifer; and his 3 granddaughters: Skyler, Mea, and Avery. He is also survived by his siblings: Dave (Ena), John (Ruth), Byron (Betty), Bud (Pat), Dorothy (Rob), Don (Dale), Ken (Cheri), and Robin (Laurie). Bill was predeceased by his parents, Julia (1997) and Robert (2014); and his siblings, Ruth (2013) (Zoli), Ted (2011), and Douglas (1957). Bill grew up in Hyde Park and attended Medway High School and Oakridge Secondary School. He ran a successful delivery business for 40 years with his brother, Bud. Bill was known for his love of the outdoors. Even after retirement, Bill frequented back roads and conservation areas where he observed birds in their natural habitat. One of his favourite journeys was a birding trip to the United States with his brothers, Dave and Rob. Bill was also known for his annual trips to Point Pelee. Bill loved exploring the U.K. and Europe on two grand tours he took with his wife. He embraced the philosophy of living life to the fullest. In his later years, Bill collected Monarch eggs and caterpillars to help repopulate the species. He enjoyed teaching his granddaughters about the life cycle of the butterfly. Bill was an avid gamer and a long-time member of the London Crokinole Club. He enjoyed family gatherings and sharing his passion for trivia. Bill was immensely proud of his family and never passed up an opportunity to share this love with others. A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider Nature Conservancy Canada to assist with their Monarch habitat program.
