Wayne Ardell Page
October 20, 2022
Joyously passed into his eternal life on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospice after a short struggle with pancreatic cancer, at age 81. Wayne is sadly missed and deeply loved by his wife Brenda, two daughters Brenda Rennie (Bruce) and Barbara Jones (Ian), and his stepchildren Catherine Bethel (Andy) and Susan Weckstrom (Steve). Cherished Papa to Charlotte Jones-Hall (Rob), Joshua Jones, Nicholas Rennie and Megan, Carter and Kyle Bethel. Beloved older brother to Gary (Edeltraude), Bill (Trish) and Lorraine Forsyth (Don). Wayne will be welcomed into heaven by his first wife, Lorry, and his parents Bessie and Irvine.
Born in Saskatoon on January 18th, 1941, Wayne moved to Calgary as a young man, meeting and marrying Lorry on October 13th, 1962. A University of Calgary mathematics graduate, Wayne was a natural people person, and he used this ability to build a wonderful career in the fashion industry. The young family moved east to Quebec in 1968 before settling in Ontario in 1976.
He and Lorry enjoyed living in numerous cities in Ontario including Oakville, Toronto, and the Muskoka area and they often wintered in Sarasota, Florida. They moved to London in 2009, settling into retirement prior to Lorry’s passing in 2013.
Wayne was very blessed to find love again when he met and married Brenda Clark (née Sykes) on December 20, 2014. They enjoyed a rich and wonderful life together, building friendships across London and in Arizona where they wintered. Every day began with a kiss and ended with a hug. He will be greatly missed by Brenda and her family.
A committed Christian, Wayne’s passion for Jesus was lived out in community. He made many good friends over the years at Lakeside Heights Baptist in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, at Lorne Park Baptist in Mississauga, Ontario, Park Bible in Burlington and through the Meeting House, Forest City Community Church and Lobo First Baptist in London, Ontario. Music was a life-long passion for Wayne and his loved ones are comforted knowing he is now by his saviour’s side, singing with the angels in heaven.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, his family physician Dr. Brett Hill and the staff at St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Home Instead in London. Their compassionate care and understanding allowed the family to fully focus on Wayne in his final days. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A livestream of the service will be available for those who are unable to attend in person.

You are invited to share lunch with the family following the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Wayne may consider St. Joseph’s Hospice, London.

We have countless momories of happy times together with Wayne and his family since our first meeting at Lorne Park Baptist Church at least 4 1/2 decades ago, a friendship which we always cherished. Wayne's passing has deeply saddened us and we, too, will miss him. We want to express our heart-felt sympathy to his wife Brenda, daughters Brenda and Barbara and their families. May they know that our caring thoughts and prayers for strength and comfort are with them at this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda and all the family Wayne was a wonderful member of our Riverbend Beach Boy golf group, we always got paired together in all of our Challenge Cup golf matches and I dont think we ever got beat, we were both that competitive . Wayne also entertained us at our closing dinners at Riverbend Will be sadly missed
I never met your Father, Brenda, but you spoke of him often and with great love, pride and compassion. The energy that he brought to the world shines through in you. My deepest sympathy to you, Bruce, Nick and your extended Families. You are all in my thoughts at this sad and difficult time. Susan
My sincerest sympathy to the entire family for your loss. I met Wayne and Lori when I sang in the choir at Lakeside Heights and was the beneficiary of the musical talents of both the Pages and the Millers. I remember both Brenda and Barb as they were growing up. It would be difficult to remember Wayne without remembering his sense of joy, his love of family, and of music along with his unfailing faith. He will surely be greeted by his maker with a : “Welcome good and faithful servant to the strains of: “Just a closer walk with Thee” May you feel a sense of peace and solace at the memory of his love for each one of you. Marie Pelletier
Dear Bren, Barb and family, Our deepest condolences for your loss. I have many fond memories of Wayne when we were next door neighbours in Beaconsfield. He was always a big presence with a contagious joie de vivre. I loved listening to him play guitar, and admired how he made sure music was a big part of your family life. I hope you are comforted by the many loving memories you have of your dad. Sending hugs during this difficult time.
When I think of your Dad Barb, the first thing that comes to mind is his smile. It would light up the room! My condolences to you and your family.
My prayers go out to the whole family during this sad time. May Wayne be cherished in your memories forever.
I am sadden to hear of Wayne’s passing. I had the brief but memorable chance to know Wayne when I was the assistant golf pro at RiverBend. We shared lots of laughs, and a passion for music. He introduced me to the Kingston trio, and I remember playing “greenback dollar” with him the one time we managed to jam together. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I have just heard of Wayne's passing thanks to a note from Patty Sarazin. As the current pastor at Lakeside Heights Baptist Church (since 2014), my condolences to the family, and we join with you in praising God for Wayne's life lived in Christ and in blessing of others. In recent years, we said goodbye to Art and Claire Morse, as well as Howard (at 101) and Enid Dayle, whom I believe might be familiar to the family members. If you need to get in touch, please see our website for contact info. (lakesideheights dot org)
