Vera Nisbet

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Vera Nisbet, in her 87th year, on Saturday, February 7th, 2015.  Beloved wife of the late Ron Nisbet (2005).  Cherished mother of Vivian (John) Emery and Gary (Maureen) Nisbet.  She was much loved, and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren:  Jeff (Rhonda), Heather (Kris), Jenny (Mark), Connor and Spencer; and by her great grandchildren:  Kali, Keegan, Kensie, Jaclyn, Taylor and Sloane.  Vera is survived by her brother Bill (Ann) Martin of St. Catharines and predeceased by her sister Joyce (2004).  The family wish to extend thanks to the staff at Horizon Place, Mom’s home since 2014, and also to the doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department at University Hospital for their wonderful care of Vera in her last hours.  Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service, with Rev. Herb Summers officiating, will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the L.H.S.F. Cancer Program would be appreciated.

Vivian, Gary' John & Maureen, we were shocked to hear about your Mom. I'm so glad that I got to spend time with her last summer at the Playhouse. I so enjoy her company, her wit & laughter. She will be greatly missed. I'm sure your Dad has taken her under his wings & there all having a grand ol time up there, Please accept our condolences to all of you. I realize that this message is very belated but I only recently heard about your mom's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Vera was a wonderful friend to my mom Betty and they shared many, many happy times together, laughing and enjoying each other's company.
