Timothy Andrew Witchell
February 19, 2023
Passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Cherished husband of Marie-Claire; loving dad of Andrew and his wife Eliana, and Christine and her husband Rob Bell. Beloved grandfather of Mark, Leila, Catherine, Sophie, Benjamin, and Neil. Loyal and loving brother to Stephen. Tim will be deeply missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by his parents John and June Witchell.
Tim was a family man who loved being a part of his grandchildren’s lives. He looked forward to playing with them with every visit. He was an avid golfer, charity cyclist, athlete, and musician, who could often be found dancing with his wife in the kitchen. Over his 40-year career, Tim worked as a successful businessman in the insurance industry in both Toronto and Montreal, mentoring others and providing excellent care to his clients. He was extremely well read and outgoing, engaged in many insightful conversations, and strived to serve others in all his endeavours. His lively conversation and wonderful laugh will be deeply missed by his friends and family, who were always in his heart.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m.

Marie-Claire, my sincerest condolences go out to you and your family. He will be sadly missed. Thoughts and prayers.
Dear Marie-Claire, Andrew, Christine and the entire Witchel family, please accept our deepest condolences during this difficult time. We are saddened by the loss of Tim and will be forever grateful for having been befriended by Tim. He was a good man. I meet Tim through a mutual friend and he instantly made me feel very welcomed to the Markland golfing group. Tim was also part of a group that frequented Fort Myers on the "guys" golfing trips. He gave us some great and memorable moments through his laughter, conversations, and competitions. He loved playing golf, euchre and competitive cribbage. He tried teaching me cribbage but I was not a very good student! lol. Most of all Tim loved his family and spoke very highly of his wife, children and grandchildren. He was very proud of all of you. Tim has left this physical world but his spirit lives in through his legacy, his "Family". May his spirit always be at your side and may he rest in peace. I will miss him. "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand"
Our deepest condolences to Marie-Claire in the passing of her husband (the love of her life) . Andrew and Christine ( your father was very proud of you ) . Rob and Eliana ( Tim was a good father-I’m-law) Our heart is broken for the grandchildren that Tim leaves behind. He adored his grandchildren. May God give you all comfort and strength to accept this great loss. 🙏❤️ Tim, may you Rest in Peace.
Sending my love and condolences to all your family. Guess I have known Tim and Marie Claire for 35 plus year. We shared a lot of fun times as neighbours. Even when we moved our separate ways I always looked forward to anytime I could spend with them. I know he was dearly loved by his family and his friends. You will be missed Tim.
I worked with Tim at Marsh Canada EBS in early 2000's. Tim was an incredible leader for our Canadian team. This a poignant time. May your family hold your Tim's memory close to your hearts; and may the warmth of your memories bring comfort at this time of loss. Tim was a wonderful man. Mindfully giving-back to his community, while leading an accomplished life. We have fond memories of conversations and the time spent with Tim. He will be remembered as gregarious, generous, well-respected and welcoming. Blessings, Pam Hinam and Family
Dear Tim The world is a sadder place today without you in it. For close to twenty years your friendship, camaraderie, loyalty and kindness made it a better place for me. My memories are special and endless, from a simple chat about a sales call to advice on a family matter, or great outings playing golf, where I got to witness your first and only HOLE IN ONE! The cards, Cribbage and Euchre, I apologize again for beating you so badly so many times. Our road trip to The Masters, Ann Arbor to watch the Michigan Wolverines, countless other sporting events and golf trips, the list goes on and on. Your love for life always reminded me what was important and the thought we both shared “we could easily find over a billion people to change places with us at any given moment!” We had nothing to complain about. An infectious smile and laugh, a great voice, however the worst “birdie dance” I’ve ever seen, LOL. What I would trade to see that dance just one more time… Your love for family was your greatest trait and one I think most importantly bonded us together. I cherished our talks about our kids, grandkids and spouses. Sharing stories of their accomplishments and sharing the pride we both felt. You were a great listener and I hope you know I was listening to every proud moment you shared with me. I think I’ll miss those moments the most. My dearest friend, the last thing we did together was pray, and the words you spoke will forever remain in my heart, I will miss you terribly, but I take solace in that being a good thing as missing you means you will always be with me. Know I will always be there for your MC, Andrew & Eliana, Christine & Rob, and of course Papa Tim, your six beautiful grandchildren Mark, Leila, Katie, Sophie, Benjamin and Neil. Love you my brother, Rick
Marie Claire and family, I am absolutely heart broken for your loss. Tim was one of a kind, a gentle man, with a kind heart and soul. The moment he hired me I knew that he would be the very best manager a sales person could ever want, and he was until the day he left Hub. Tim was my mentor, and a dear friend. We spoke daily, when I would come into his office and sit down in front of him to discuss whatever. Family was most important to Tim. His love for his wife and children were what kept him going. He kept me current on their activities but what he was most proud of were his grandchildren, he always beamed when talking about them. We caught up on many things; events, conferences (where we always shared our love for red wine) clients, prospective ones as well, deals in the works, sales concepts, and just every day stuff but mostly we shared a passion for golf. In fact my husband and I had the pleasure of golfing with Tim and Marie Claire several years ago at his then club. It was so enjoyable and memorable. I will never forget this outing. Tim's smile was infectious, and hearty as he always commanded a room. He was smart, well-read and travelled. I will miss him very much! May his memproes be a blessing to your family! Fondly, Ann
My condolences to Tim's family. I worked with Tim at Confederation Life in Group Sales many years ago and will always remember his smile, laugh and the twinkle in his eyes. May your memories give your strength and comfort in this difficult time. May he REST IN PEACE.
First, may I extend my sincere condolences to Tim's family and loved ones who are grieving his loss. I first meet Tim in the mid 1970s when he was in our Montreal Group office working for Sales manager Fred O'Neil and I was in Long Term Disability claims. Then, in the late 70s after my move to the Toronto Disability claims office, I had further occasion to work with Tim when he was promoted to open our Group Sales office in Ottawa. Whenever I travelled to Ottawa for business and to meet with Tim, he was always welcoming and supportive of my career progression within the company. Tim always had a smile and was upbeat and positive about life. He will be missed by those who knew him.
Sincere condolences to the family of a wonderful man. I had the fortune of many golf games with Tim at Markland. I always admired his personality and friendliness to all.
To Marie-Claire and Family Our sincere condolences, our deepest sympathies and our unending love to you all. There are special people in our lives that never leave us, even after they are gone. Timothy (Tim) is one of them. The world has lost an incredible life, a loving husband, a devoted and proud father, the best ´Grandpa Tim’ to his six beautiful grandchildren who he adored and a ´special friend’ to so many of us who had the privilege to know him. Tim … the loss is unmeasurable, but so is the love you leave behind! We will never forget you and you will be forever missed! Pat and Norm 🙏🏻💗

Dear Marie Claire, Andrew, Christine, Steve and all of your families. With a heavy heart we like to express our heartfelt condolences! For a short walk in our lives, we were fortunate to have met Tim and his family as new neighbours. A remarkable man who happily shared his love for Marie Claire and the family! Many memories of interesting conversations, games, golf, and dinner outings we were able to enjoy, and we got to know a very lovable, honest, and fun man. His laughs were reflected in his eyes. He will always be a role model in living your life to the fullest and with a sense of humour, no matter what lies ahead, his strength and courage will be guidance to the difficult time ahead for all who loved him.
