The Very Reverend Dobrica Obradovic

Father Dobrica Obradovic was born in Staro Selo, Serbia, on January 9, 1950, to parents Radisa and Milanka. In 1965, he was sent to the School of Theology in Belgrade. Upon graduation, he met a beautiful girl, Slavica, from the village of Dubravica, from parents Svetomir and Radmila. Shortly after, they got married and God granted the young couple a nice son, Srdjan. On April 1, 1969, he moved with his family to London, Ontario, Canada. He began work in London, and with a small community, built a church dedicated to Saint Sava. Later, they retired in London. In 2016, Father Dobrica fell ill with cancer, and on Friday, December 13, 2019, he gave his soul to God. He passed peacefully with family by his side, at Parkwood Institute. Beloved husband of Slavica for 47 years. Loving father of Srdjan (Betsy). A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15 at ST. SAVA SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, 5567 Wonderland Road South, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Father Dobrica are asked to consider St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church.

So sad- I only saw this last night! : ( My deepest condolences to Slavica and Srdjan and the Obradovic family. Srdjan was like a brother growing up and we spent so much time together in London- I loved Slavica and Dobrica like aunts and uncles! Dobrica drove Srdjan and I everywhere as young kids....for GI JOE toys, let us have is Canadian Tire money for action figures, he took us into McDonalds for my first Big Mac, and smiled and kept his cool as Srdjan and I kept him awake during late night sleepovers and kids. They were awesome and I have so many great memories of him and their apartment at 80 Admiral Drive. I can still smell the new car smell of his 1979 Green Duster. Rest in Peace and again, much love to the entire family- I am sad I could not attend services.

Takvu dobrotu, iskrenost, odanost u dobriu i zlu, duhovnost i posvecenost hriscanskoj ljubavi prema svima - necemo ponovo naci. Zbog secanja na velikog coveka i prijatelja ostajemo duboko tuzni i zahvalni sto smo delili ovozemaljsko vreme sa njim. A ko zivi u Bogu, taj sa njime odlazi u miru i ostaje spokojan u vecnosti. Neka ti je vecni pokoj dragi Dobrice; hvala za sve i mirno spavaj.

My deepest condolences to Family Obradovic for Father Dobrica's passing. He christened me along with many of my fanily members and was a staple in my life and our community. He set an example for us all. Nek mu je vjecna slava.
