I just heard of Susan's passing. I'm so sorry. She was an absolutely incredible woman. My Thursday nights were always something that I looked forward to. Girl Guides was special. And it was special because of you, Sara, and Susan. You two put so much effort and pride into everything that we did, be it bedroles or handmade candles or CSI camp or reef knots (Left over right and up through. Right over left and up through...). I loved it all. As I was looking on Google for the date and time of the funeral I found an old post of Susan's from 2008 on CBC's website. It was in response to an attack on Girl Guide Cookies on the basis of trans fat. Susan responded politly, with a clever argument... that was just slightly sarcastic. It was wonderful. She cared so deeply about Girl Guides that she was willing to fight CBC about cookies. Thank you, Susan. You were special.

Dear Louise and Family, I am very sorry that Susan lost her fight with cancer, I have never known anyone to put up such a fight. It only goes to show you what Susan was made of. Although we did not keep in touch we think of her everyday when we look at the potted shamrock and decorated pot she gave to Mom and I when we left London. She will forever be in my thoughts. Susan was an amazing women all around and has touched many lives for the better. Louise, I know it will be difficult for you and your family, but you are all made up of the same grit that Susan was and I hope eventually you will all heal and remember the great times.
