We will always remember Dr. Bruce for his enthusiastic renditions of John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt at the campfire on Bruce Beach. His joy of singing it was infectious. Never was a campfire more fun then when your dad was there. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. Our thoughts, sympathies and love to Katherine, Audrey, Allison, Beth, David and the rest of the family.

All our thoughts are with his beautiful family today. Although we did not know him well, we can only imagine his generosity, humour and wittiness; as we cherish these attributes from our dear friend Katherine Bruce. All of our love and warmest embraces are with you today, and the days to come. May your father always be remembered with Joy and happiness in your hearts. Olivia & Brendan

Kath, I was so sorry to hear the news of your Dad's passing. Our sincere condolences to you, Audrey, Allison, Beth, David and the rest of the family. I have many teenage memories of life in the Bruce household on Doncaster. The house resonated with sibling disagreements, music and laughter. I learned lessons from your Dad that I still think about today. I remember that Dr Bruce implored all the girls to never use old mascara and wisely pronounced that "tying your shoelaces was the hardest part of going on a run". Our thoughts and sympathies are with you today. I will think of your Dad the next time I trek the Bruce. Karen & Chris

Sorry to hear of Dr Bruce's passing. Our sympathies to David and his sisters. A great outdoorsman and hiker, he set a great example. And what a killer sense of humour! He will be missed.
