At Parkwood Institute on Tuesday, March 29th, 2016 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late George for 67 years. Loving mother of Bill (Carol) and Bob of London. Cherished grandmother of Colin (Rhonda), Jesse (Sheila), Christopher, Jennifer and Jessica (Dennis). Proud great-grandmother of Amy Lee, Kate-Lynn, Destiny, Jacob, Paige, Grant and Ellen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Sheila and John Warnes. Cremation and private interment to follow at a later date. Memorial visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Monday, April 4th, 2016 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. with sharing of memories at 4:30 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Shirley are asked to consider the charity of their choice.

Aunt Shirley was my babysitter when I was a little girl and she never made me eat the crust she always cut them off. I remember as I got older I would take my pants over to her for her to hem and I would pay her for doing so. Aunt Shirley and Uncle George always welcomed me in their home anad I have very fond memories of them. Uncle George use to call me "Tom" as I was such a tomboy and the older I got, Aunt Shirley would always, "George, her name is Linda not Tom." and we would all laugh. I never minded being called Tom. Rest in Peace Aunt Shirley. Air hugs LJJ
Shirley was a great gal and we always enjoyed her good spirits and smiles. She enjoyed our activities and we will sadly miss her.
We are going to miss Aunt Shirley's smile, laugh, and persistent positive outlook on life, even when she was so ill. She was such an inspiration to Randy and I and our children, always sharing her wisdom. We will cherish our memories from dinners together to dancing on the deck at the cottage! We love you Auntie and feel richer having known you and learned many lessons from you! Until we meet again...
Shirley was one of a kind. I've known Shirley as long as I knew my late wife. Both she and George befriended an 18 year old kid in 1975 and were always so good to me and Marion. If I went to see if Marion was around, I often found myself sitting and talking to George and Shirley. If I walked Marion home, and The B's were out sitting, we would always go over and sit and talk with them for hours. Shirley would offer her insight and advice into the female physic to me which worked out very well, as I got to marry the girl of my dreams. Shirley knew Marion and I were going to marry before our own parents did. We always treasured the times when they came to visit us in all the places we have lived. Shirley would often play in the sandbox with our son, Robert. This wonderful lady had the heart and love for life of a child which endeared her to all. After Marion's death, in talking with Shirley, she said something to me I will always be grateful for as it put things in perspective and has made dealing with the grief of a lost loved one so much easier. Heaven is a better place now that you are there. Say hi to George for me. You will be missed by all. RIP. xoxo.
Shirley has a special place in my heart. She welcomed me warmly when I joined Proudfoot Seniors and seemed to make it her life's mission to make people smile and laugh. I will miss your sweet smile, Miss Shirley.
Our sympathies to Shirley's family and friends. What a pleasure to read how she made such a positive difference in so many lives. An accomplishment that all of us should strive to achieve!

Aunt Shirley was a loving and caring lady. She always had a good word for everyone. We loved her so much and she will be greatly missed.

I first met Shirley through George as my husband Vic & I worked with him. I was laid off on my job & he said to go where Shirley worked which I did. Shirley & I hit it off so well that they were our brides maid & best man. Which was 65 years last Dec. So we new each other for about 68 years. My husband & George fished & hunted together. We enjoyed their company & stayed in touch. I will miss her like crazy she also baby sat my daughter. Good bye Shirley love you.

My grandmas (Sheila) passed away before I was born and I considered Grandma Shirley as my grandma. I am glad that I experienced this type of relationship with her. We are saddened by her loss. She will be greatly missed and always remembered. We will always love her.
