It was a great privilege getting to know Scott these past few years. His heroic efforts for science will never be forgotten and will be reflected in the lives and minds of all of us who knew him and many more who didn’t.

It was a privilege to meet Scott - he was a remarkable and determined man. The reports we did about Scott's abilities to communicate despite his disabilities were seen and heard around the world. Sincere condolences from all the BBC team to Anne and Jim.

A gentle and courageous soul at rest!! May it help and comfort you to know that Scott's story will help others who may trod his path. Our love and sympathy to Anne, Jim, Rich & family.

~ Kathy & Ted

My sincere sympathy to Anne, Jim and family. I worked with Scott for many years until my retirement from 3BW. It was a pleasure being a part of Scott's nursing care team.

~ Lynda Crich

As a member of "The Durham Boys" no matter what city they moved to as they grew up, you mention their name and people instantly knew about the great guys who made up this small Band of Brothers. I had the opportunity to grow up with all these guys - Scott, Donald, Mike, Greg, Jamie, Kirk- and each one would always be there for the other, regardless of distance which separated them. Scott, I know you fought a tremendous fight these last few years, helping others just like you always have and set a level of achievement others will have to work very hard to attain. You will always be remembered for your smile, wit, determination, gentleness and courageous spirit. My sincere sympathy to your entire family at this time.
