Roselyn Power
February 2, 2014
Surrounded by her loving family, the peaceful passing of Roselyn (Rody) Power, wife of the late Major Walker J. Power occurred at Parkwood Hospital on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on March 27, 1922, Rody was the daughter of the late James (Jim) and Margaret (Dawson) Ackerson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Rody spent 30 years working at Eaton’s in London, Ontario and will be missed by her many Eaton’s friends and colleagues. The outdoors was particularly a special place to Rody. She loved cottage life and excelled in sports such as golf, curling and speed skating. She also loved playing bridge in her earlier years. Many fun times were spent with her special lifelong friend, Rose Hatchette and her family of Saint John, New Brunswick. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all had a very special place in her heart. Thank you to everyone in the family for their wonderful support and love. Rody is survived by her daughters Pamela Power (Jerry) and Patricia (Paddy) Davis (Craig), and son Patrick Power (Blazenka); her grandchildren: Christopher Power (Tara), Dawn Gill (Sean), Jeff Davis (Melissa), Scott Davis (Crissy), Lauren Power and Candace Power; and her great grandchildren: Tommy and Isabelle Power and Ella Gill. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkwood Palliative Care, Heather Cushing of Holy Family Parish and the CCAC staff for their professional and compassionate care of Rody. There will be no visitation or service. Private interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rody are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

I enjoyed working with Rody at Eaton's in Ladieswear. She had a great sense of humour and took us all under her wing. Keeping your whole family in my thoughts and prayers. Barb
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. Your parents and mine had some good times together. Rody and my Mom were pretty close even after they both retired from Eaton's. I will always remember the two of them sharing a laugh about something. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.
Pam: Our sincere sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your Mom. Thinking of you. Adrian and Shirley
Pam & Paddy and families.....I was very sorry to hear of your mother's recent ill health and her passing. I always enjoyed talking to your mother over the many years we have known each other, and remember with fondness her love of shopping! My thoughts are with all of you at this time. Wishing you peace and comfort. Carol
Paddy & Pat...very sorry for your loss. I worked with your Mum at my first job at Horizon. I remember her as a 'second' mother - she took all of us youngsters under her wing. She advised us, listened to us - always so kind and thoughtful. One of my favourite memories is the day she had us over for lunch. I feel blessed to have known her. You & your families are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care, Penny
