Suddenly, at University Hospital on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, Roger Allan More, of London, Ontario, in his 77th year. Dear and beloved husband of Nancy (née Brown), and idolized and loved father of Mary Kathleen (Mary Kate). Survived by his cousin George (Silvia) Traynor. Cherished uncle of Colleen Paterson (Ken), and great-uncle of Sean Hagarty, and Eric, Krista and Jenna Paterson, all of Edmonton. Also survived by his dear brother-in-law, David Brown (Heidi), of Westborough, Massachusetts, and nephew, Hugo Brown (Kara), of Wayland, Massachusetts. Predeceased by his parents, Ab and Irene More, and by his sister, Diane Haydock. Roger was born on March 19, 1942 in Edmonton, Alberta. He attended The University of Alberta, and graduated with a BSc in Engineering Science. From there, his studies took him to Western University (Ivey Business School), where he received his MBA and PhD in Marketing. After a year of teaching at Harvard Business School, he returned to Ivey where he taught with great passion for 44 years. Consulting globally for leading companies, Roger then retired in 2017 and became an accomplished and published author. He had a great love of teaching, the automobile industry, his family, friends and pets. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Roger are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the London Humane Society.

What a profoundly sad loss for us all. Roger was a force of nature, with a personality and a laugh that filled whatever room he entered. And yet in conversation he was so very generous, kind, and intimate. He always made the other person feel like they were important, and welcomed as an 'insider'. Roger made an impact on so many, and he will be missed. My deep condolences to his family.

I joined the Ivey faculty in 2014 and only new Roger briefly, but what an impression he made! I will miss his humor and wonderful insights on the academic life. Nancy - I worked with Roger from 1979 - 1999, when I retired from Ivey and Cairn and I moved to New Zealand. Sadly, I never met up with him again after that point. But during those first 20 years, he and I taught the same sections of students many times. I always loved his "wicked" sense of humor. While I have never been a "car guy," it was no secret that Roger was one. In fact I recall a short teaching case we used that was titled something like "The Mores Buy a New Car. Or Do They?" I always found Roger to be a true delight - he brightened every room. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Nancy - Roger taught me marketing in his first year of teaching at Ivey and my first year as a student at the school. Since that time Roger and I have shared laughs and barbs on a regular basis. I will miss his sense of humor and enjoyment of life. My deepest sympathy for your loss.
Nancy, Heather and I would like to express our sincere condolences at Roger's sudden and unexpected passing. Being 76, I have a special feeling that he was too young. Claudia and I are saddened and surprised to hear about Roger. Always a great person to have a chat with either about Ivey happenings, having fun at a party or a group dinner at the Marienbad. He will be sadly missed but with true affection from so many. Sympathies to his family and to all who knew him.
Roger was a mentor and friend to me. He graciously helped me learn the ropes at Ivey, and gave me many words of advice as time went by. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Nancy, and with all his loved ones.
Nancy & Mary Kate, my sincerest condolences. I had the privilege of knowing Roger since the late 1970s working on Marketing Management Courses. I often sat in on his classes on Exec Ed courses because I loved his razor-like wit and considered him a kind of class-room magician, so skilled was he at working cases. His love of classy automobiles was just so obvious and he was always helpful when I was looking to get a new car. I remmeber he predicted how Hyundai would be come a major force in the car market long before the company had he quality lines they do now. Althogh I was a prof in Kin, I vividly remember every time I ran into him on campus in the years after MMC, he would always pull out his wallet to show me pictures of "my daughter." A few years ago, I worked with Roger to solidify his work at Ivey. Finally, I had the honour of being present yesterday at Roger's life celebration and I was very moved by the speakers, their remembrances, the music and just the tone the minister set for the whole occasion. I left his celebration feeling like I alway did when he and I parted after spontaneous meetings on campus, uplifted and just plain glad I knew him. I will seek out his poetry - a gift of his talents about which I was unaware...

Dear Nancy and Mary Kate - I'm so sorry to hear about Roger's passing. I never got the chance to meet either or you, but Roger played a huge role in my life, as he did for so many of his students. I was an MBA student of his many years ago and he sparked a love of marketing in me. Together with his former colleague, Jim Rush, they encouraged me to pursue a PhD. Without Roger, I would never have found my way to the profession I love (in his footsteps, I'm a marketing professor, now at Duke University). When I teach, I find myself trying to channel my inner Roger, and be as inspiring to them as he was to me. I still tell stories in my classes that Roger told me. I'll not forget him. Gavan

I remember Roger's larger than life presence at many Ivey events over the years but the thing I remember most is his kind heart and how much he adored both of you. Thank you Roger More for the Porsche case. I'll always remember that the tachometer is in the middle for a driving enthusiast. Nancy and Mary Kate, so sorry to hear of your loss. I found Roger always to be a delightful colleague and his energy and commitment at Ivey will be surely missed. Ivey was much richer due to Roger's efforts in the classroom, his executive teaching, his thoughts on technology marketing and follow the cash, but above all his good nature. I will miss him as a friend as well as a colleague. He made a real difference to so many students over so many years. He did not always do the obvious and as a result he was respected by his peers and his students although sometimes he was intimidating but that is the mark of a true teacher who sets high standards for himself and others. I enjoyed his energy and his wit. He also had a sharpness of thinking that really helped you understand the difference between two alternatives. Nancy ... I was saddened to hear about Roger ... please accept my sincere condolences. Roger and I were classmates ar Western (MBA 70). We went our separate ways after graduation, but eventually met again when I joined the Markeitng Faculty at Western in 1979. Roger was a great colleague and friend and helped out a 'rookie' in many ways during my first year of teaching! He will be missed ...
When I arrived at the School in 1978 it was Roger More who approached me early on, with arms spread as wide as his smile, welcoming me and asking if that was my BMW 320i in the faculty lot. You can imagine where the conversation went from there. Two car guys always have a lot to share. I never met anyone else like him. And that's sad, because we need Roger Mores. Nancy & Mary Kate, Barb joins me in offering our most sincere condolences to you both. Though we have now lived far away in Whistler for several years, we certainly haven't forgotten Roger, and we never will. For much of our careers at Ivey, Roger and I had offices side by side, and we travelled around the world, teaching in executive programs together. "MK," back in the days when long distance calls from hotels were hugely expensive, I can still remember how he spent more than a thousand dollars calling you from a hotel in Kuwait - before you could even talk! And I'm sure that you were the only little girl in London Ontario who had a beautiful little dress that her dad had brought for her from England (Harrods,of course). Roger had a wickedly sharp sense of humour, a great passion for automobiles and an unshakeable commitment to free enterprise. But above all, he loved his wife and daughter. Over his remarkable career, he made a huge impact on colleagues and students at Ivey .
Hello Nancy, I was so shocked and saddened to hear this news, and my heart goes out to you. Roger made me laugh often over our years together at Ivey, and after you both attended Jack's recent play at the Grand he sent me a lovely email follow-up the next day.
