June 21, 1982 – September 5, 2020

 

Peacefully and surrounded by his family, on Saturday September 5, 2020 in his 39th year, after a courageous, 16-month battle with colon cancer. Loving husband and best friend of Kristen, and Daddy to Blake Peter, 2½, and Tessa Robyn, 9 months. His family was his absolute pride and joy. Cherished son of Doug & Tree Galbraith, and brother to Scott & Sonya and Dan & Caity. Affectionately known as silly Uncle Herb to Charlotte, Emmy & Nicholas, Avery & Sullivan and newborn Addison. Herb was loved by many family and friends. He touched and brightened lives with his love and presence. Beloved son-in-law of Michael & Marilyn Scott, and brother-in-law to Taryn & Joe Geurts, Jordan & Meghan Scott and Steven Scott. Rob delighted in watching his children play and grow. Although his time with them was short, his faith was strong and his legacy will last a lifetime. Everyone loved ‘Herbie’; he was kind, thoughtful and very social with a competitive spirit. He made many friends over the years through school, hockey, baseball and later softball. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at LHSC, the London Regional Cancer Program, VON Middlesex-Elgin Site (Cherryhill) and St. Joseph’s Hospice – London. The support of Holy Family and St. George Parishes has been greatly appreciated. Finally, a sincere thank you to our families, friends and neighbours for their prayers and support through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, Rob and Kristen request that contributions be made to the Bethanys Hope Foundation, where both serve on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Registration is required to attend the visitation at Westview Funeral Chapel.

Our sincere condolences to the family on Herb's passing. We had the pleasure of seeing Herb with his lovely son at my grandsons birthday the end of November of 2019. He was always smiling and his friends that we also there for the birthday party were so happy to see him.
