Robert ‘Rob’ John Alder

Linda, we are so sorry to learn of Rob's passing. The service was amazing and very honouring. Rob's desire to serve others and his selflessness were evident. We will continue to pray that God's love and graciousness shines on you and your family in a way that only He can do.

Always was a fan of Rob so enjoyed our time together on London City Council. Rob was kind and cared deeply for his family, church and the community he served. I loved his plan to get a tourist boat back on the Thames but unfortunately we ran into lots of roadblocks. I’m so sorry I can’t make the visitation or funeral but my husband Paul has Parkinson’s and Alzheimer and I am his caregiver. Sincere condolences to the family.

I knew Rob from church and found him to be a quiet, wise man. I loved talking to him and he always asked about Clyde ( my husband when his health didn’t allow to come to church anymore)! He came with Pastor Neil to anoint Clyde with oil and pray with him before Clyde’s last surgery and he was so interested in Clyde’s life story! I feel privileged to have known him and Linda I will really be praying for you because I know what you are going through! If you ever want to talk I am here!

I worked with Rob at the Middlesex-London Health Unit and during that time he taught me a lot about Public Health and community service. More importantly he shared his wisdom about the importance of family and exuded his passion for "Linda and the kids" daily. My condolences to the entire Alder family and hope you find comfort in the love Rob had for you all.

Our sincere condolences to Rob's family on his passing. He served as our city councillor for many years. His engaging, cheerful attitude and commitment to the work were much appreciated.

I met Rob through politics both municipal and provincial. He always had a positive personality and was a pleasure to know . May over time ,all you remember are the laughs and fun times you had as a family . Sincerely Dan Thrasher

We are so sorry to hear about Rob’s passing. Rob was a man who loved the Lord and that was evident in his life. We rejoice that Rob is at home with Jesus, looking at Him face to face and walking and talking with Him. What a joy that would be. So sorry to hear of Rob's passing. We served together as Trustees for the Board of Education for the City of London. His questions and actions always displayed a commitment to integrity and fairness. Wishing his family strength.

Rob was a very intelligent, inviting, soft spoken man. He was always eager to hear about what Winston and his friends were up to at school or what the next big sports event would be. He was a strong man who pursued his passions and loved his family deeply. My condolences to the entire family

My condolences to Linda and the rest of the family. I served on City Council with Rob and while we disagreed from time to time, we had a respectful relationship as we worked for the betterment of the City. May good memories give you strength at this difficult time.

Rob touched so many lives in his international public health work here in Uganda and the greater East African Community. The Masters of Public Health Leadership(MPHL) alumni and faculty at Save the Mothers: Uganda Christian University will always remember him as a passionate,exceptionally intelligent ,committed,generous and above all God fearing Public Health Specialist. We learnt so much from Rob. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in Peace Dr Robert John Alder.

I am so very sorry to hear the news of Rob's passing. I remember his laughter and that he always had a smile. I enjoyed working with him but more appreciated his sense of family and community. May God bless your family and give you the strength and courage in the face of grief.

Though i havent known Rob long, he has left a lasting impression on my heart. I cherish every moment I was able to have with Rob as my father in law, especially him being at the cottage for a family trip the first year I went. His bright smile will be my fondest memory. I will deeply miss him and will be able to see his smile and kind face through Winston daily. Love denise.
