Surrounded by the love of his family and dearest friends, Bob was welcomed into heaven by his son George at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 in his 83rd year. Dearest husband and best friend to Loretta (née VanderZanden) for 58 years. Most caring and loving Dad to the late George (Marianne), Patti Landry (Doug), Linda Schmalz (Wayne) and Mike (Laurie). The best Papa ever to Michael, Chelsea, Brianna, Robert, Ryan and Michelle. Grandpa Shemp to Shayna and Trev Landry. Loving brother to Gerry (Joan) and brother-in-law to Ron Jackson (Lorette), George VanderZanden (Ivy), Mary Nappa, Diane MacIsaac (Gus), Liz Sokolik (Jerry), and Linda Holgate (Tom). Predeceased by his parents George and Hilda, his siblings Georgina and Jim and his in-laws Helen O’Connor (Terry) and Louis Nappa. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Dearest friend to Terry and Joanne Austin and their children Kelly and Derek. Bob was a long time employee of Big V Pharmacies. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral which will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. Private interment at Dorchester Union Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Dearness Home London, for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bob are asked to consider the Cardiac Fitness Institute of Southwestern Ontario or Dearness Home Auxiliary.

Dear Loretta and family, I have just read of Bob's death. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I last saw the both of you at Tom's 50th in Sarnia. In just speaking with Fr. Larry, we were reminiscing about the days past at Blessed Sacrament, in Windsor. They were great and memorable days not to be forgotten. Bob's earthly journey is now complete; may he rest in peace. I will offer mass for him tomorrow morning, May 12th. Rick Janisse- Kingsville
