McDermott, Rita – Peacefully at University Hospital on Saturday, July 31st,2010, Mrs. Rita McDermott of London in her 95th year. Until the time of her death, Rita had been a resident of the Care Centre of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Beloved wife of the late Steve McDermott (1994). Loving mother and friend of Sister Diane McDermott C.S.J. and Donna (John) Maddeford. Proud grandma to Patrick Maddeford (Shalagh Suchan)and Trecia (Craig) Harley. Great grandma to Lucia and Baird Harley. Predeceased by 5 brothers and 7 sisters. Rita was a long time member of the C.W.L. and the Cherryhill Activity Club. Friends will be received at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road, London on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm with parish prayers at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta St. London on Thursday, August 5th, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rita are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph (Care Centre).
