Richard ‘Dick’ David White

Peacefully passed away at his home, surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of 51 years to Janice White (née Hughes). Dear father of Jeremy (Kyla) of London, and brother of Doug White (Beverly) of Orillia; brother-in-law of Barry Hughes, Bill and Lynne Rysnik, Brian and Marian Hughes, all of St. Marys; Shirley and Garry Waugh of Woodstock; and Brian and Julie Hartwick of Thorndale. Predeceased by son David “Whitey” (2013); parents Wilbert and Beverly White; and in-laws Harry and Reta Hughes. Uncle to many special nieces and nephews.

Dick worked at the London Free Press for over 25 years and then at Sportswood Printing, retiring in 2013. A die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan and tired of waiting for them to win a Stanley Cup! Passionate about golf and enjoyed meeting so many special friends at both Hickory Ridge and in recent years, West Haven Golf & Country Club.

Special thanks to Dr. Kirk Hamilton, Dr. Jill, and nurse Jessie for their excellent care. We appreciate the many visits and the love and support of so many family members and close friends.

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5:00-9:00 p.m., followed by a private family burial.
