Randall ‘Randy’ Frederick VanderPloeg

July 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Randy (Randall) Frederick VanderPloeg on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the age of 58.

Loving son to Adriana VanderPloeg and the late Fred VanderPloeg; brother to Karen Lambley (Mark) and Andrew VanderPloeg (Lauren); beloved uncle to Tyson, Brandon (Rachel), Ethan, Anna, and Micah.

Randy was born and raised in London. He was known for his sense of humour, and brought laughter to every room he entered. Randy loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with friends. Like his Dad, Randy loved to work with his hands; he was a hard worker, and early in his career, started his own roofing company. In recent years, Randy spent more time contracting and renovating, finding work all over London and surrounding area. In his spare time, Randy loved to golf and fish with family and friends. He owned a boat and would often spend his weekends in the summer at the Marina in Port Stanley. Randy also enjoyed food, was an excellent cook, and loved to cook for others. He will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at West London Alliance Church, 750 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.

Dear Aunt Jane, cousin Audrey, and cousin Andrew, Please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences with the passing away of Randy recently. Many years have passed since I met or talked with Randy, but I can distinctly recollect the good times we had since childhood up to the time before I left for Korea. Randy was a down-to-earth, jolly person who was a great conversationalist and a hard-worker. He was one of my favourite cousins and I will miss him a lot. May our Lord be with you all during this time of pain and sorrow. God bless you, Peter VanderPloeg (son of Paul)

~ Peter VanderPloeg

Randy will be missed! He was a great guy and was always willing to help family and friends. This was very shocking to hear as I was texting with him not long ago as my Sister was looking to get some renovations done. Randy did great work and I will cherish his memory as I'm able to look at some of his craftmanship that he has done at my residence. Had some fun times on the course and rivers fishing, you will be missed dearly. My condolences, rest easy my friend.

We were so very sad to hear the news about Randy. We would often see him at the marina in Port in the summer. He loved to go fishing and looked forward to getting out and enjoying the lake. Our sincere sympathy goes out to all of his family and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our parents were very close to Randy's parents Karen & Randy spent many sundays and family parties with us and Andrew came along later when i was out west. Randy had a distinct laughter and always ready for mischief and had great amounts of energy. It was always endless goodbyes until next Sunday at church. I reconnected with Randy at my mother's funeral where I saw a grown man who I saw loved my mother and loved his family and showed deep respect and maturity far from our past younger years. I was proud and I am proud to have known Randy and to have been part of the VanderPloeg family. Tante Sean&Karen I truly love you guys & Andrew May God give you peace and comfort today

~ Henrietta Van Luttikhuizen

We do pray for your aching hearts and trust that you will endure these days with strength and love.
