Ralph Edwin Johnson
February 2, 2014
In his 68th year, passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital with his loving family at his side on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. Predeceased by grandson Brandon (2007), father John (1993) and mother Grace (2012). Survived by loving wife, travel and dance partner, Irene, of 45 years. Proud father, best friend and ‘Superman’ to Matt and Suzan. Adored by grandsons Brahm and Cole. Sadly missed by his extended family members and brother Robert (Claire). Ralph, being a genuine gentleman, touched many lives through his work, volunteer association with Aylmer Ducks Unlimited, travel, men’s league hockey and in day-to-day life. He saw the good in everyone. He was the Grandpa that could, and did, fix anything for his grandsons! Ralph took great pleasure in riding his Harley Davidson Nightrain through the countryside. Family and friends will be received for visitation on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph’s memory may be made to the Lymphoma Association of Canada or a charity of your choice.

Irene My heart is breaking for you and your family. It was with shock that Colin and I read about Ralph. I have read over and over on this page about Ralph being a gentleman and super friendly guy. He truly was a kind soul who touched many lives with his easy going charm and sincere caring personality. Colin only met Ralph on a couple of occasions but said Ralph put him at ease right away, showing him his bikes and talking about work, making a house party where Colin knew no one, into a great night out. The world has lost a beautiful soul. It was evident how much you loved each other and I know you will miss him. Try to focus on the great memories you have from your travels and family events. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts. Linda

For all the 36 years I knew Ralph, I will never forget how excited he was when he would tell me, "Irene's taking me away on a trip. " He was so totally in love with you Irene. I also wish I had a dollar for every time he would boast about Matt, and how proud he was of his son. What a great dad. The bible says a fathers glory is his children's children. When Ralph had his grandchildren, he was over the top with excitement. He stepped into that role like no other man I know. What a rich and fulfilling life Ralph had. At such a sad time, remember to rejoice that you were able to spend 45 years of marriage with a man who was kind, thoughtful, faithful and a true gentleman. My life is a little bit richer because I was able to call him my friend
Irene, Matt, Suzan, Robert and Claire, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. We will cherish our memories of a very special cousin. Ralph will be greatly missed.

Hi Irene and family, We are so sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. It was always a pleasure bumping into the two of you in the grocery store, or in the Mall in London. There was always a smile on your faces and you could tell you enjoyed each others company and you always showed appreciation in meeting people unexpectedly. I am sorry we will not be able to pay our respects to Ralph as the weather is not being co-operative in the country. Our thoughts and prayers go to you and your family at this time and hope it helps to know that he is at peace now and out of pain. Thinking of you!!
