Philip James Morehouse

November 12, 1940 - February 13, 2022

On Sunday, February 13, 2022, our beloved husband and beautiful father passed away unexpectedly in London, Ontario.

Philip was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick on November 12, 1940. He was married to the love of his life, Pat (Patsy as he lovingly referred to her) for 63 years. They have three children: son Brian, late daughter Brenda and son Brent; and three grandchildren: Jacob, Joel, and Paige. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Fern (Till). Phil will be missed by his siblings, sister Eleanor (Ralph), brother Ted (May), sister Bernice, brother Stephen (Laura) brother Bill; and his nieces and nephews: Pam, Ralph, Susan, Sally, Randy, Debbie, Ronny, Bobby, Jennifer and Stephen.

Philip began his working career with NB Tel in Saint John, New Brunswick, and then moved onto Montreal where he worked for the CPR Police from 1962-1968. He then joined the London Police Department in 1968 until he retired in 1999 after 31 plus years of service.

Philip had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. His priorities in his life were Jesus, his wife Pat, his family, and his friends – they were all so important to him!

Visitation will be at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Proof of vaccination will be required to attend the visitation. Celebration of Life service will be held at Gateway Church at a later time in the spring. Date to be determined.

Phil was my colleague with the lps. I came on in the mid 80s. As a rookie most senior officers didn't welcome you with open arms. Phil was not one of them. Phil would not judge you and made sure he would teach you whenever you did a call with him. I worked beside Phil during my 1st yrs. I always watched and learned. He always asked about my family whenever we spoke. He cared about the young guys. He was one of a kind. My condolences to his family.

To the Morehouse family: My sincere condolences are with your grieving family. "What you saw with Phil, was a genuine person, who cared for others," including his fellow police comrades, and the citizens of London." If there were more police officers like Phil, we would need less police supervisors, as Phil was truly a responsible, intelligent, gentleman. And besides those personal comments, he was one good hockey player, and I believe he did not have a mean bone in his body, as he had the opportunity to show "Rick where the boards were,"but with a BIG SMILE, took the puck off my stick, and passed the puck to one of his forwards." Thanks Mrs. Morehouse, for sharing Phil with all of his friends down at the police station, and at the rink. Rest in peace Phil, as you did amazing work on earth. Rick & Lynda Niles
