To all of Pete's family: I am so saddened to read of your loss. What a great guy "Petey" was--I worked with him about probably about 25-30 years ago at Pickles on Richmond Street in London. We had so much fun and we certainly had a lot of laughs!! I have run into him a couple of times in Wortley Village in the past years--but never had a chance to meet his wife or children. I could tell many a story of our time at Pickles--and our experiences in the kitchen there. We were so busy there back then it was good to laugh--and we did a lot of it!!! Take care--Pete would want to see strength in you all--and he would for sure what to see some laughing--it was what he did best--it was infectious!! Pam Hurlbut

HE IS GONE You can shed tears that he is gone Or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back Or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he's gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind Be empty and turn your back Or you can do what he'd want: Smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Today we remember PETER March 8th, 2011 We are sorry about the passing of Peter - our sincere condolences goes out to all the family at this time, love to all, The Keene family from the Niagara Region

I've known Pete's brother Steve for 37 years, we worked together for the CPR. I met Pete 25 plus years ago, and haven't seen him in the years following that, when he worked briefly in Toronto for the CPR. But I remeber him clearly, and I recall thinking that I could see that family resemblance between him and Steve. I have a great story of a long and confused trip home to London on his days off, when he tried to catch a ride on the caboose of my train but it derailed part way across Toronto. I had to arrange an alternate ride while dealing with the derailment. While all this was going on Pete was his good natured easy going self. My sense of him was that he was a kind and gentle soul, the type of person that "hyper" people like me need to connect with every so often to learn to calm down. His passing at such a young age is very unfortunate. It isn't fair for one's life to end at such a young age. But I agree with the previous post, remember the good, smile and carry on.. even in my brief encounters with him its the humour that I recall.. To Steve and your siblings, and especially to Pete's wife and children, my sincere condolences. Remember all of those wonderful times together, smile, and continue on..
