Peter Arthur Hill

January 4, 2025

Peter Arthur Hill passed away at home on Saturday, January 4, 2025. He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Lin (Harman) and his daughters, Adria (Michael) Grant and Megan (Sean) Mayville. Loving Grandpa to Leah & Pippa Grant and Della & Isla Mayville and dear brother to Susan Hill. Peter also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Peter was born in England to the late Val and Art Hill and immigrated to Canada as little boy.

Peter was passionate about airplanes, getting his pilot’s license at age 16, and worked in the airline industry for airlines throughout the world. Peter loved nothing more than spending time at the cottage, his happy place, and loved it even more when it was filled with family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation taking place one hour prior. Dear Lin, Adria and Megan, So many fantastic memories of Peter at family events, holidays and dinners. I will always remember Peter as the man who loved to laugh, always wore a brilliant smile with an infectious energy. He had a bit of a cheeky spark about him which added to his delightful character! He will be deeply missed by so many. I am sending my deepest love and sympathies to his family; may you fondly remember the love and laughter he brought to your lives. Xo

I met Peter many times at the family cottage ( Loon Lake) and had the utmost respect for him. A very successful career , a loyal and loving husband to Lin, and a wonderful father to Adria and Megan . He was warm and approachable and always presented a smile and dry humour . Mostly he found humour in everything everyone else said and I it was easy to see that whenever Peter was around , he invited a lot of laughter and positive energy . I will note that Peter and Lin lived far from the Loon Lake cottage amd when word was out they were coming for a visit with their girls , there was a lot of excitement because everyone loved them !! Peter was a good guy and Lin was his person! Peter was educated and intelligent and understood people . No matter who was in the group , Peter fit in and had a knack for making everyone feel comfortable and liked - a good listener with a big warm heart . R.I.P. Peter and I wish your family healing and peace. 🌺

Lin, Kathy and I are thinking of you and your family at this time of loss. We were blessed to meet Peter. Fondly remember, under your RV Awning, parked between the BAHA and our home on Turnbull Lane, sharing memories of our families and our careers. Indeed, he piqued my interest (made my 30-year career sound rather Ho-Hum!) as he shared his passion for flying and the flight industry in general. I found it fascinating. Quite a man. He will be missed at Loon Lake. Please know Lin, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Steve and Kathy Curry Westport, ON

I worked with Peter at Air Ontario, and then later with him at Airshow London. He was a great guy. He taught us younger airshow Turkeys so much. He will be missed.

~ Mark Smith

I know Peter through the Airshow London ground operations team known as the Turkeys. For almost 30 years Peter has been an extraordinary mentor to me as part of this team. A brilliant planner, a tireless worker and an endless sharer of his talents and goodwill. Wherever Peter was, there was laughter to be had. I will miss him and his stories most dearly but his larger than life persona will never be forgotten.
