Persis Willis
December 4, 2023
In her 98th year, Persis passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023. Preceded in death by her parents Elzora and Hoyt Remick; husband Ross; brother Bud Remick and sister-in-law Joanne; and niece Pam Pond. Loving mother to daughter Roslyn and son Eric. Devoted ‘Mum’ to daughter-in-law Marian. Aunt to Dan Remick and Darrell Pond, great-aunt to Josh (Sarah) and Justin (Ashley) Pond and their children. A prolific artist, there was little she wasn’t interested in or couldn’t do, winning many prize ribbons for her paintings. Whether it was sewing, China painting, doll making or painting, she produced countless beautiful pieces. One of the few suburban housewives to own two kilns! She was an early member of the Nine Fine Artists, the Brush and Palette Club and the Lambeth Art Association. She was especially proud of the painting she was commissioned to do of the old Lambeth water tower, which was more recently featured on the cover of the September 2022 issue of the Lambeth Villager. She will be missed.

She was a vert special and kind person. We send our condolences to the family.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Persis. I first knew her mother and then Persis when I delivered mail for Canada Post to Tarbart Terrace for many, many years. I felt like the residents of that street were my family as everyone knew me over such a long period of time. I had Persis paint me a watercolour of iris flowers which I proudly have hanging in my dining room. We shared wonderful memories of Grand Bend where we had both spent many wonderful hears. I am pleased to have known you.
My condolences to Eric and Roslyn. Fond memories from the past on Tarbart Terrace. Adieu, Persis!
