Surrounded by family at home on Wednesday, August 10th, 2016, Paul Van Den Akker of London in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Laura Gibson and son of Mary and the late Bert Van Den Akker (1982). Loving father of Leanna Van Den Akker (Joe Hazelwood), Holly (Dave) Ross, Ashley Van Den Akker, and Sadie Gibson. Much loved grandfather to Caleb, Jayden, Carter, Layla and Quinn. Dear brother of Nell (John Howse), Ricky Ager, Ken (Janet), John (Fran), Fritz (Diane), Teresa Johnston, Mary (Joe Joosten), Betty (Desmond Lam) and Angela (Paul Andersen). Dear brother-in-law of Hugh Gibson and Ormah-Lee Jacobs. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Bert (1980). Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Oakland Cemetery. I was shocked to hear of Paul's passing , sincerest condolences to all his family and friends , R.I.P.
Our sincere condolences to the family. Paul was a great friend and just incredible human being with heart of gold. He was a family man and loving father. We called him Marlboro man among friends for his looks and charming smile. Paul you will be sadly missed but always loved!

I've known paul for almost 50 years. He was a caring father, a wonderful brother, a down to earth family man anf a great friend. I loved him and I share your pain. H can never be replaced. Please know he loved you all.... he told me so.

I haven't seen Paul in years but growing up next door to his nieces and nephews, I remember him as the funny uncle as he had orange hair and a smile that could brighten a room. He always teased me about being Adams girlfriend and I would get so mad! Rip uncle paul, and my sincere condolences to his family, my friends, and all whom had the pleasure of knowing Paul.

We shared some awesome times together. It didn't matter if it was a party, conversation in the garage, or working on the job site, it was always a blast. Paul was an exception to most, he showed his emotion and did more than you could ever ask for. We will truly miss him. To the family, we will always be here for you.
