Patricia “Diane” Rock

September 27, 2019

With broken hearts and extreme sadness, the family of Patricia “Diane” Rock announce her sudden passing in her 53rd year.  She leaves behind the light of her life, her deeply cherished daughter Kennedy.  Diane is the much loved daughter of Patricia and the late Garry Rock.  Adored partner and best friend of Scott Denomy.  Loving sister to Darlene and Shawn Doe, David and Heather (Weis), and Denise Rock.  Diane was an incredible and supportive aunt to Michael (Lindsay), Brittany, Koen, and Joshua.  She was so important to Tyler Stevens, Tyson, Josh and Corey Patrick, and Gary and Brandon Flonders.  Diane had a heart of gold and would do anything for her family and friends.  She will be missed by her family and she was loved more than she ever knew.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 ~ 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Diane are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Diane, I've been struggling the last few days to understand and comprehend your passing. I'm very thankful that Jenn and Macy came for a visit this weekend and gave me something to occupy my mind. We became friends at work, but if you're lucky, very lucky, you can count on one hand those that become friends out side of work...and you were one. You have given 150% to everything you did, whether it was looking after your mom, taking care of the house, looking after your residents, raising your daughter, celebrating friends and family accomplishments or being a shoulder to lean on in sorrow. You exuded pride in your nieces and nephews as if they were your own children but you shone from the inside out when you spoke of Kennedy, your biggest and brightest joy. Any truly, you had every reason to be proud of her. She's an exceptional girl. At our last lunch date, you spoke of future plans and it made my heart happy to hear them. I will miss your laughter, your smile, which was beautiful, but mostly I'll miss the friendship and catching up on life and loves. They say every time a dragonfly visits, it's a loved one in heaven coming to visit. I expect to see lots of you. I know when I look up at the night sky, the biggest and brightest star will be you...after all, you always gave 150% and I expect you'll still be doing the same. XO

~ Jane Humphrey

Deepest sympathies and love to the Rock family. I will always appreciate the love and understanding she had for me. Kind and funny and beautiful is how I will remember her. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her relationship with Josh. She and Pat are such great female role models for him. Her smile said it all about the great persons she was.

~ Lois Holden

Diane , I am still in shock about your passing. I've had a very difficult time processing this .... it doesn't seem real to me yet . I can see u everywhere I go at work and can her your voice and your chipper " hi girls" as u fly through the halls . We became friends a few years back after working together for years and u forever were a shoulder for me to cry on . And I thank u . U were probably the hardest worker at work and I am just very sad to know I won't see u anymore . U were a wonderful person , friend , and your most treasured role... mother . Rest easy Diane . I will miss u

We met Diane first as thirteen year old neighbour on our new street in July 1980 , she and her family were the first to welcome us to our home, still there 39 years later. Diane showed the same characteristics from that day forward. No one could have been a better and more caring person. She always had time for others, to help, to talk, to share, a way of life that she had learned from her parents. Diane had a fine sense of humour and was realistic about life and its opportunities. Her passing leaves a feeling of emptiness for many including ourselves but thinking of her will bring smiles of happiness to our faces and warmth to our hearts as she led by example. We will truly miss her.

We will miss the sound of the lawn mower, the chats over the fence and an invitation to swim on a hot day. You were the one who inspired us as neighbours to help those who couldn't help themselves. Your sudden passing is a gentle reminder to all of us as to how precious life is - Love and Prayers for your family and friends.

~ Brenda and Daley

I was so deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of Diane's passing. I met her many years ago when I worked at Cameo Hairstyling , then years later saw her almost every year at the Crohns Gutsy walk & brunch where she would be out to support family. I know Kennedy and her family meant the world to her and I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her . My sympathies to you all. May you find much love & strength from family and friends through this heartbreaking time.

~ Carrie Brophey

It was a blow to my system when I was told this dreadful news yesterday I was not at work however I understand the mood at work was very somber and understandably so We work in an industry where death is ever present however this unimaginable news has rocked us to our core Diane was very dedicated to giving the best care possible She was always my go to person if I wanted to know about a residents condition I always asked her opinion as I felt i would get an honest answer Words are inadequate to convey what we are feeling at this moment We send our deepest sympathies to Diane's family We want you all to know how much we respected her , what a large void her absence will cause in our day to day life. Our hearts are heavy but we will remember a woman who was beautiful inside and out A woman who was kind and funny and caring Those memories will stay with us and they will give us comfort whenever we think of Diane

~ Kimberley Noftle

I am so very sorry to hear the news concerning Diane and wish to send my condolences to Pat and all of Diane's family. I have the fondest memories of working at Country Terrace with awesome folks and Diane was one of those special people. She was funny and was fun to be with; she was real. I am saddened that someone so young, so full of life has left this world and leaves behind people who loved her. She will certainly leave a void in the hearts of those who love her; however, she has left behind a treasure of memories. May God comfort you.

I always thought we would have the time to get together and catch up. We were good friends, had lots of fun going out for the night life, playing co-ed baseball, shopping to name a few. Then life got more serious and we lost contact. I am sorry for that. This is such a terrible reminder not to take things for granted. Pat and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort knowing she touched so many people's lives. I will miss her and always regret not reaching out more often. So long Di.

My loving sister, I am so lost for words. You ware taken from us way too early. You were an incredible daughter, sister, mother, partner, aunt, niece, granddaughter, and friend. You are truly irreplaceable and will forever be in our hearts. I already miss watching Josh and Aunt Diane having fun together. My promise to you is that I will take care of Kennedy like you did for us all during your lifetime. Rest in peace, Diane. But I know it will only happen after you have cleaned out heaven's gardens.

~ Dave Rock

I love you more than words can describe mom and I'm so grateful for the 19 years we had together. You were everything I want to be and more. You sacrificed so much so I could have a perfect childhood and it was so perfect and for that I'm so thankful. I love you with my entire heart

~ Kennedy Rock

Diane, one of my best friends for nearly 30 years. Left us too soon. I will miss you deeply, your friendship, loyalty, smile, humour, kindness and love. I was blessed to have you as my friend. Forever with the Angel's, always in my heart. I love you Di
