I went to Jean Vanier with Pam in grade 3,4 and 5.She was and still is the preattiest girl I ever got to know.My heart is deflated with her loss.

Although it has been almost a week, I think of Pam every day. She was very blessed to have such a loving family at her side as she battled this unforgiving disease. It became so apparent last week, how many lives she has touched and how much she was loved. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Pam. Her vibrant ways, that smile that warmed the heart and a laugh that always made you smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

It was with great sadness, Mary and John, that I learned of the death of your beautiful daughter, Pam. My heart goes out to you and your family and especially to Pam and Andy's young daughters. Andy and the girls- I know Dave has spoke for our family and he said it best. It is not everyday you meet someone like Pam. Her smile, her genuine caring, friendship and love was so evident. Dear Andy: I lived next door to Pam from grade 1 through grade 11. She was my best friend as a child. I have so many fond and vivid memories. I went to Saunders for three years so I am aware you started your journey together as teenagers. My parents attended your wedding. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Pam at Canada Trust for a while. She made a big impression on me. She was a very kind and caring person with a smile and chat for all. My late husband Ernie also work at Spencer Hall and unknowingly was speaking of this young woman who always had a smile and was such a kind and thoughtful person he got to chat with every now and again. My thoughts are with Andy, the Forcey and the Vanderhoeven families. When I recall our track training days together it was Pam who still sported that smile and her unmistakeable bounce in her stride even midway through a tough workout. It was that same spring in her step that earned her the nickname “Roo” on the volleyball court in high school. Pam’s easy laugh and unbridled energy drew people to her as she bounded through a life well lived and well loved.

I feel so fortunate to have spent time with Pam. Our neighbourhood ladies games night will never be the same. She lit up the room and had the most infectious laugh. I will miss her love of life, her devotion to her girls and the happiness that she found with Andy was something that she shared willingly. The neighbourhood will be all the poorer for not having her here with us but all the richer for having shared in a small part of her life. My heart goes out to her family.

Pam you are too young!.. Andy and I spent a few wonderful years with Pam as a fellow sprinters and then I, as her sprint coach while at Western. She and I share the unofficial 'media' title as "stalwart" for our respective teams - strength, comraderie, encouragement, support, leadership.
