Peacefully, at her residence on Sunday, August 20, 2017, Olga Gerrie of London. Beloved wife of Ron Gerrie for 47 years. Cherished mother of Lynda Watt “Bird”, and her husband Michael Watt. Proud grandmother “Gigi” of Anderson Watt. Missed by her brother-in-law Ken Lennox of Northern Ireland; sister-in-law Dorothy Gerrie of Guelph; nieces Gillian Yavuz (Sam) of Northern Ireland, Shannon Merizzi (Ben) of Ottawa; nephews Rob Gerrie (Stephanie) of Calgary, and Stephen Lennox (Karen) of England; and nephew-in-law Volkan Yavuz (Ruth) of Northern Ireland. Missed by many great-nieces and nephews Rana (Andrew and Leyla), Asli, Emel, Hannah, Emily, William, Sam, Nicholas, Christopher (Amy), and Daniel. Deeply missed by her very dear friends Joan Liddell, Marilyne Lanctin, and Liz Osbourne. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Margaret Thompson, sisters Alma Lennox and Isabel Thompson, and brother-in-law Larry Gerrie. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Following the visitation, in lieu of a formal funeral service, a wake will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at McGinnis Landing Restaurant, 666 Wonderland Road North, London. Food and beverages will be provided. Please feel free to share stories and memories! Private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Olga are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
