Norman “Norm” Herbert Frank Dawe
January 31, 2024
We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Norm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at age 79, surrounded by family, at University Hospital, London. Beloved husband of the late Irene Angela (d. 2000). Loved father of sons Adam and Kevin. He leaves behind two brothers, Mark Dawe (Eileen) and Tom Dawe (Yvonne), and their families.
Norm was born in Montreal in 1944. As a teenager, he developed a passion for sports cars, a passion which stayed with him his entire life. He enjoyed maintaining and modifying his cars, attending car meets in the London and Niagara areas, and spending time with fellow car enthusiasts and their families. Norm was an experienced outdoorsman who deeply appreciated nature, whether fishing in Algonquin Park or exploring the back roads of rural Ontario. He had a successful 25-year career at Bell Canada in Montreal and Hamilton, followed by a rewarding 20-year real estate career in the Grimsby and West Lincoln Areas. Norm moved to London in 2016 to be near family.
Norm had a humble yet confident personality and was a thoughtful listener, sincerely interested in the stories of others. Above all, Norm was a devoted and caring father to his sons and was a strong supporter of, and beloved by, the younger generations of the Dawe family. Norm’s memory will be a testament to his love of family, friendship and his unassuming love of life.
A memorial gathering will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Norm are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Fair well my old friend, we will meet again and the old gang will be together again.
To the family and friends of Norm, my sincere condolences and sympathies to you. May your happy memories together give you peace and comfort during this challenging time. I remember Norm and the great times we had together as a group of friends who were always together after graduation from Westmount High in Montreal. It was the times of youth and adventure as our lives began to evolve during those 5 or 6 years in the sixties. At that time Norm was always the sensible one. Norm enjoyed his Austin Healy and talking about fast cars. I remember the great joy he had at meeting a lovely girl named Irene and how he fell in love quickly. I take solace in knowing in knowing that Norm and Irene are together now. The old gang from those days has kept in touch over the years and recently we had a reunion in Toronto which I believe was enjoyed by all.
Krystle and I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Dawe family. Krystle and I met Norm for the first time when we purchased our home on Killins Street in Smithville 14 years ago. As I got to know Norm as a neighbour over the years I learned quickly that we both shared a passion for cars. I will have fond memories of evenings shared at car meets sharing stories and knowledge. He will be greatly missed Condolences to Norm’s family Regards, Krystle and Drew

To Norm’s Family: We were shocked and saddened to hear of his sudden passing. Norm was our Neighbour & Friend. A man who took great interest in people, cars & camping. While we were worried about having our “camper” in our condo driveway overnight, before leaving on a trip, he took delight that we were able to enjoy the outdoors & shared his enthusiasim of being in nature. He was a kind and gentle spirt who will be missed. May the many wonderful memories Norm left you sustain you through the weeks & years to come. In Sympathy & In Friendship Lynn & Wayne Peck
