Norman Canning Aitken passed peacefully into the presence of his Saviour, Jesus, at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 96 years of age. Loving father of Julia (Corbett & Wayne) and Kari. Adored grandfather of Sam Corbett. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Donna (Breckman), his sisters Margaret (Pasman), Jean (Andress), and brothers Harry and George. He worked for Greyhound Lines of Canada for 50 years (not a bus driver), was involved in his church (West Park in London, Fort Myers Evangelical Free Church in Florida, and Calvary Baptist in Guelph), and was a long-time member of the Gideons. He was a kind and gentle man known for his wonderful sense of humour. Special thanks to the staff at Southbridge LTC, who took such good care of him these last few months. Cremation has taken place.

We remember Norm as a sweet hearted fellow-member of ShareWord Global. All praise to our God for the long life he lived, and all that he enjoyed and contributed toward God's kingdom. He now lives in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ, and for that we remain grateful. Praying for God's grace and comfort to abound over the family. John 11:25-26 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die'" With much love to Julia, Kari and your loved ones, Nick and Veenet
Dear Kari, Julia, Wayne and Sam, my deepest condolences for the loss of your father and grandfather. I worked for Mr. Aitken at Greyhound Canada for a number of years. He was an excellent boss. I was blessed to work for him and to know his family. When he was in the office, there was never a dull moment. He liked to joke and was always happy (yes we did get lots of work done). A very proud and loyal Greyhound employee, respected by all. RIP Mr. Aitken. Thank you for everything you gave me and for the wonderful memories when we worked together. I will miss you, till we meet again. 🙏
I am sorry to hear of Norm’s passing. I knew Norm from working with him at Greyhound Lines. His positive, happy disposition was very infectious. He was always ready with a bit of wit or a funny story. Unfortunately it’s been a number of years since I last saw him. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your dad, Kari. We have not been in touch for a long time but still I remember your dad, with great fondness when I accompanied you a few times to the family cottage near Port Franks. He was so so kind and so much fun. May you rest knowing he is in heaven and has joined your mom there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this season of grief. Mary (Rowe) Goral
