May 23, 2024

Nicholas John Nimchuk, CD1, passed peacefully and surrounded by all of his immediate family, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at LHSC – University Hospital, London, Ontario, of complications from pneumonia after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed winter sports, hunting, fishing and foraging, and even taught winter outdoor survival in the forces. John enjoyed enabling his wife and children’s love of horses, which fulfilled his childhood dream of being a cowboy just like Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. John was predeceased by his mother, Louise Zillman; father, Thomas Nimchuk; sisters, Sharon and Joyce; and brother, James. Survived by his wife, Jo Anne Hobbs; children: Bernice, Helen Anne (Willie), Nicholas Ian (Gracie), Johanna (Harry) and Michael (Helene); grandchildren: Nicholas George (Leeanne), Shawn (Ariana), Javan, Alaya, Brynleigh and Lenox; siblings: Tommy (Betty), Dorothy (Bob), Helen (Jim), Marion (Donny) and Walter (Suzanne); sister-in-law, Marilyn (Lloyd); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
