Nicholas James Douglas “Bill” Fortner

November 26, 2024

Peacefully with his family by his side, Nicholas passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in his 45th year at LHSC-Victoria Hospital.  Beloved son of Alan (Jerene) and the late Francesca Fortner (2007). Loving brother of Adrian and Anne Marie Fortner (Nicholas Cowan). Adoring uncle to Paislee, Isla, and Kai. Cherished nephew of Patricia Fortner (Tim Pearson) and Connie Cooper (Jesse) and cousin to Mackenzie Cooper (Chris).

Nick “Bill” will be remembered for being a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews and the children of his dearest friends. He lit up whenever he was around them, playing with them, entertaining them, and spoiling them. He was the most generous brother and friend, always offering a helping hand at a moment’s notice. He was a gifted dancer and storyteller and was the proverbial life of the party with the most charming of smiles and a disarmingly infectious laugh. Nick “Bill” will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He brought joy to so many.

Cremation will take place after the memorial service, that will be conducted on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.

Those wishing to donate in memory of Nick “Bill” are asked to consider the Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services.

Billy was such a kind gentle soul. He always treated me like a little brother and looked out for me when my older brother Troy Murphy was not around. I also remember his love of both art and music. Wise beyond his years Billy used to always say “A good tune is a good tune” not giving into peer pressure to act a certain way or follow along with the newest teenage trend. Rest in peace bother. It’s all Sunshine now!
