Nancy (née Johnson) Schofield

July 25, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of Nancy Schofield (née Johnson) announces her passing, surrounded by her loving family, at Parkwood Hospital on Thursday, July 25th, 2013, in her 74th year.  Beloved wife of Walker Schofield for 49 years.  Dearly loved mother of Mary, Thomas (Sherry) and Susan (Tomas).  Much loved Gramma of Jonah, Cameron, Dane and Zoey.  Dear sister of George and Lily Johnson, Charlie and Janet Johnson, Bill Pickering, Janet and Bill Dixon, and John Johnson.  Special aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Mary and Leonard Johnson; siblings Gordon Johnson, Joanne Pickering and Verna Faulds; in-laws Walker and Nellie Schofield, Ellen Schofield, Cathy Johnson and Ron Faulds.  Nancy was a music teacher in Middlesex County for many years.  After retiring, she played the piano for The Nostalgic Theatre (TNT).  She used her musical talent to entertain at many venues over the years.  The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses for the amazing care that she received while in the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood.  Special thanks to Jill, who provided her with the music that she loved so much, but was no longer able to play.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North.  The funeral service will be conducted at METROPOLITAN UNITED CHURCH, 468 Wellington Street, London, on Monday, July 29th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.  Private family interment at Oakland Cemetery, London.  Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Nancy are asked to please consider the Metropolitan United Church Memorial Fund.

Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to you Walker, and your family. Nancy was a musical gift sent from Heaven, and now she is back there, ready to teach the Angels how to love the music. The memories of her, when she taught the students at Metcalfe, including my son, who adored her, those memories will never fade. She was a joy to work with, on so many levels. One of the warmest, nicest, caring people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Greatly loved and greatly missed. My heart goes out to all of you, on this very sad day. Ellen and Charles McLeod, her Little Professor.

Dear Walker and family, We are deeply saddened to hear of Nancy's passing. She will always be remembered for her passion and musical talent; her cheerfulness and enthusiasm in life. Our earthly world has sustained a terrible loss, but heaven has gained a wonderful Christian woman who can now join the heavenly choir in praising our beloved Saviour. May God be with each of you and bring you His healing and strength always! Our prayers and condolences are with you all at this most difficult time. With love, Erma, Rich and family

Dear Walker and Family: How much we all will miss Nancy's warm smile and loving encouragement! Of course, your loss is so much greater than the rest of us can even imagine and words of comfort seem hollow just now. Walker and Family and All the Johnson Family Nancy and I grew up across the road from each other just south of Kerwood. I have a lot of wonderful memories of the whole family. Papa and Mama Johnson were great role models. She was just a few months older than me. I can still see her playing the piano and organ in the Kerwood United Church. Her musical talents were a gift from above.. The music just flowed from her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. My sincere condolences to all on your loss. My thoughts are with you all. Lloyd and Marie Shea
