Murray Brian McKenzie

I have only had the pleasure of knowing Murray about 1.5 years. From the first time I talked with him I could tell he was a very quiet, kind-hearted and gentle person, as I got to know him better he reminded me a lot of my dad. Talked with Murray several times, more often in the kitchen area at work, he was always willing to have a conversation and hear what you wanted to say. Every time I visualize him I can see the unique smile on his face. The world has lost a great person, he will be very sorely missed, my condolences to Murray's family and friends.

I was a pen pal of Murray's since 1995. I am a fellow IT nerd and I often spoke to him about work, life and his cats Benny then Cooper. He was a very kind and compassionate man. I had not heard from him in some time and was shocked to find that he had passed on. He will be missed.

Sorry I'm late. I'm another co-worker who will miss Murray and his smile. Others have already used better words so Thank You Murray, you will be missed. I have made a small donation to the heart and stroke foundation on his behalf. My best wishes to friends and family.

Meeting Murray at church we became friends quickly. It wasn't long before he arranged to meet my mother and I for coffee on Saturday afternoons, when he wasn't golfing mostly on raining days. Occasionally we would meet at a restaurant for a meal together. Times spent together were a real joy to both my mother and I and we will miss him very much. The last email I received from him he told me what a fabulous time he was having walking around Charlottetown and relaxing at Cavendish beach. Our prayers for family and friends as we also feel for your loss as he was such a good friend.

I always enjoyed speaking with Murray about travelling, sports or anything really. He was caring and showed genuine interest in other people. His golf game is one that I regret not having witnessed myself. Probably better than he let on, as he was so modest. He is and will continue to be missed. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I always enjoyed sharing in cordial conversation with Murray when we met at church. His gentle, calm and unassuming manner made it a pleasure to know him. I will miss seeing him and having those friendly chats, and will remember him fondly for his kindness. My condolences to Murray's family and friends at this sad time.

My condolences to all who knew Murray, I am so sorry for your loss. Murray was such a friendly and nice coworker. Since I had worked with him, he always talked to me first to whom was very nervous and frozen in her first job. I miss that we used to talk about weather, lunch menu and summer vacation plan in the kitchen. Murray will be sorely missed not only to me also to everyone who knew him.

It was an absolute pleasure to know and work with Murray for the past four years. He was such a sweet and kind-hearted man, and always made me smile. I miss talking to him. I'm consoled by the fact that he always seemed so peaceful and happy. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

I met Murray in 2001 when I started working at Axa Insurance. We were on the same team. We started golfing together each Saturday along with a 3rd friend, Bruce Moore from Axa. Within less than a year rMurray and I were no longer working for Axa, and our careers took us in different directions, but we continued to golf together every Saturday through the season, right up to the day before his passing. In later years we were introduced to Ernie Briginshaw who played regularly with us up until a few years ago when Ernie and his wife retired and re-settled in British Columbia. Murray was a gentle soul and a great golf partner. He was very skilled at the game, a natural swing, great iron player. But he also had a very good temperament for the game. I often joked that I had heard Murray curse twice in the 17 years we played together. I also had to be Murray's designated shouter on the course. The odd time he would hit an errant shot I would have to yell FORE for him because he was reluctant to shout. This was just a part of his mild and gentle nature. I will miss our golf games but more I will miss our friendship and many conversations about golf, baseball, our work, our families, anything and everything over the years. My deepest sympathies to Murray's family on this unexpected loss at such an early age.

I worked closely with him over the last few years, and our team is just not the same without him. He was always interested in hearing about what was going on in my life and others, and also happy to share stories from his own adventures. He will be missed.

Sending my deepest condolences to Murrays family. I was a former co-worker of Murray's and always enjoyed my time working with him. This news is shocking and heartbreaking for so many. Murray always had a smile on his face and brought joy to the day-to-day work life. Murray your kindness and humor will be missed by all.

Murray - I'm so glad we got to work together so closely over the past year. I'll always think fondly of our conversations in the kitchen and when I'm making my lunch, I'll say to myself "What have you got today, Murray?" as I always asked you. To Murray's family: The news of his passing was quite a shock. He will be remembered as a co-worker and as a friend. I am terribly sorry for the loss in your lives with his passing. To Murray: I am so going to miss our conversations at work. You helped to keep me on my toes.
