Muriel Wilkins, R.N.

December 26, 2015

“Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

Peacefully at Henley Place, London, Ontario, Muriel Wilkins, R.N. passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015.  Born in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 27, 1918 to Mabel and Edward Abell, she married our Dad, Allan Wilkins, in 1942. Dad predeceased her in 1989.  Together they raised four children:  Carol Rock (Ken), Doug Wilkins, Donna Hall (the late Jim), and Barbara Westgate (John).  It was fitting that Muriel chose a career in nursing as she had compassion for those around her.  At the age of 90, she was awarded her 20 year pin as a volunteer at Parkwood Hospital as she faithfully attended to the veterans during this time.  Throughout her lifetime, nothing made Mom happier than being in the company of family and friends, especially if there were cards involved!  Loved by her 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Darrell Shaule officiating.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Muriel are asked to consider The Salvation Army.
