Mildred Alexander

January 10, 2018

Survived by her beloved husband Bill, only daughter, Barbara, son-in-law John, grandsons, Michael and Paul, granddaughter-in-law Charlie, and great-granddaughter, Nyota-Rose. Mildred is also survived by her devoted brother, Wilmer and sister-in-law, Anne. Her brother, Glenford, predeceased her. Mildred was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her surviving in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred’s passion was gardening and she won awards for the perfect specimens she grew. Also, she had the gift of hospitality and hosted family parties for every birthday and holiday. She was a member of both St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Brampton and Westmount Presbyterian in London and was awarded a life membership in St. Andrew’s Women’s Missionary Society. Both she and Bill were honoured with life memberships in the Brampton Horticultural Society and were active members in the Lambeth Horticultural Society. Mildred had a playful and imaginative side which endeared her to her daughter and grandsons. The 68-year marriage of Bill and Mildred was pure joy for both of them. They were blessed with good health and compatible in so many ways. They shared the same Christian faith, similar farming backgrounds, a horticulture hobby, and a love for people. Mildred provided a shining example of how life should be lived. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTMOUNT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 521 Village Green Avenue, on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In memory of Mildred, the family would welcome flowers or a donation to the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex.
