Michael “Mike” Simpson

January 1, 2024

It’s with saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” Simpson at the age of 70, on Monday, January 1, 2024.

He was a wonderful husband to Jill and a wonderful father to Amy (Louie) and Chad (Gladice). The best Papa to Leo and Kenzie. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Donna, and Best Brother Chris.

Mike had lifelong friends and cousins who supported him on this journey and he was thankful for them. He worked at Lovers Office Furniture for many years and enjoyed being their salesman.  All of his spare time was spent cheering on the Leafs or fishing; his most favourite things to do.

Thank you to Victoria Hospital for his excellent care.

Cremation will take place. Those wishing to donate in memory of Mike are asked to consider the Canadian Blood Services at 820 Wharncliffe Rd S, London, ON N6J 2N4

My most sincere condolences to Jill, Chad, Amy and all of the family. Mike loved each one of you dearly was so proud of all of you. Mike was a work colleague for many years. He was such a character, so much fun and an all around great guy. Some of his many unique phrases and “zingers” will stay with me always. He will be missed. Nancy Hessel

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Mike, our family spent a lot of time together growing up as our cottages were next to each other, built by my father and Uncle Bill, our families spent every Christmas and summers together when we were kids so the memories are endless. I was honored to be the only girl allowed at every fishing derby throughout the years and I loved every minute of it, Mike got me my first German Shepherd and took the time to introduce me to Obedience and Show Training so Dad would let me keep Kemo, Chris and I drove Mike crazy wanting to hang out with him when we were younger, PRAYING we got to ride in Uncle Bill's old black and red Dodge Belvedere, he was my go-to guy for all dog knowledge and fishing info along with Chris. He LOVED Halloween, he would send me pics of himself all dressed up along with the decorations he had at his house, he was a loving, caring, funny guy. He was also a die-hard Maple Leafs fan, he was so proud of his man cave with his 80" TV and all his memorabilia. Mike loved his family very much. He was proud of Amy and Chad and he really liked Gladice, he told me she was funny and felt like she was an awesome choice for Chad. Mike will be greatly missed and the only comfort I can take away from his passing is that he is in great company, Chris, Aunt Donna, Uncle Bill, Auntie Helen, Cousins Dave & Dennis along with the rest of the Watsons and Rivers. So rest in peace Cous til we meet again xoxoxo

I’m so sorry for your loss. I worked with Mike at Lovers for almost 15 years. He trained me at the front counter when I first started! He was a great guy to work with and I’ve missed him since he retired. We’ll be playing Rise over the PA at 4:00 on Friday in his honour : ) I think of him every time I hear that song.

Jill, Amy, Chad & family, My family and I are so very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I have SO many amazing memories of him (and all of you) from our cottage days on Frank’s Drive. So many laughs around the campfires we shared or the numerous games of horseshoes. One of my favourites is waiting for the Mike and the guys to return from fishing. We then would clean and filet the fish and have an amazing fish fry over the fire. I will hold all these memories close, as I hope you do as well. Hugs to you all. ♥️

So very sorry for your loss. I worked with Mike for many years at Lovers at Work Office Furniture. He always brought a smile to everyone's face and had a great sense of humour. We often teased each other with Leafs and Habs rhetoric! Rest in peace my friend, fly high, fly high!

Dear Jill and Family So very sorry to hear about Mike. I’ve enjoyed working with Mike over the years at LoversOffice Furniture. He made it a fun place to work with him laughing through difficult times and situations. We would play music at our desk with the dismay of some. Not to many people know but I started working when I was young with you at Hay Stationery. So I’ve had the pleasure of working with both of you!! God Bless you Jill and Family through this difficult time. Love Mark
