Mia ‘Mary’ Vanderyt (née Donkers)

December 3, 2021

Passed away peacefully, at McCormick Home on Friday, December 3, 2021. Predeceased by her husband, Tony of 61 years. Loving mother of Joanne (Brian) Landon and Caroline (Tim) Fletcher. Proud Oma of five grandsons: Devin (Trianna), Michael (Meagan), Christopher, Ryan (Meganne) and Kyle. Great-Oma of Thatcher, Vada, Hendrix and Nora. She will be dearly missed by her brother, sister, nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.

Mia immigrated to Canada shortly after marrying Tony in 1960, having the same dreams as her husband to own a farm. Mia was the “Party Queen” and loved her friends dearly. She loved hosting summer parties which included The Tomatosoup Band and lots of good food. Mia’s grandchildren meant the world to her, then her great-grandchildren came and she was ecstatic. Oma will be greatly missed by them all. We would like to thank McCormick Home for their excellent care, as short as it was. Many thanks to Carlos – her special angel, for the great care he gave her.

A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.
