Mary Lillian (Payne) Barrow

After a brief and courageous fight against cancer, Mary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, in her 87^th year. Beloved wife of Fred. Dear mother to her sons: David (Renee), Michael, Steve (Mona) and to her daughters: Kelly (Steve) and Sue (Mike), son-in-law, Larry and daughter-in-law, Tatjana. Loving grandmother to Amber, Tyler, Marisa, Serena, Chris, Ben, Alex and Evan. She will be missed by nieces: Nancy, Cheryl, Beth Anne, Mary Ellen, Jennifer, Jessica and nephew, Gary; as well as family members in the UK. Predeceased by her sister, Edna and survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy. Special thanks to the staff at University Hospital (4^th, 6^th and 10^th floors) and the entire team at St. Joseph’s Hospice. The care and compassion that Mary received was extraordinary. Mary retired from The University of Western Ontario – Office of the Registrar, after 20+ years, in 1993. She enjoyed her retirement with music, travelling, drawing, computer games, and cards. Mary cherished the time she spent with her family as well as her much loved dogs and cats. A memorial service will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary are asked to consider St. Joseph’s Hospice, London.
