Mary Kowal
October 19, 2013
Peacefully with her family by her side at University Hospital, she passed away on Saturday, October 19th, 2013, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late William. Loving mother of Len (Chris) and David. Cherished Grammie of Bryan (Marian) and Jennifer. Great Grammie of Luke, Tyler and Mya. Dear sister of Pearl Schneider. Mary will be greatly missed by her special friend Ethel Leeming. Mary devoted her life to her family and those she called friends. As an active member of Gethsemane United Church for close to 30 years, she built strong ties with those with whom she worshipped and worked and created life-long friendships. Mary spent her spare time working passionately in her flower and vegetable gardens, nurturing the beauty found in living things such as her roses, perennials and fresh vegetables. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 24th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cecil Cogswell officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery to follow. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Dear Len and Chris and family; My heartfelt sympathy to you both at this very sad time at your Mom's passing. Sorry that I am not there with you to give you all a big hug but please know I am there for you in thought and prayer. I have very fond memories of Mary especially her warm and gracious smile in good times and in bad. She was so supportive to me after the accicent with visits and cards. When were were together we had such good chats " even sharing a room at the old mill ". May the peace of the Lord be with you now and always. All my love, Carol.

Auntie Mary, you will be remembered for your kindness and laughter. May all your family find peace in knowing you have been reunited with your loved ones who passed before you. I take comfort that you and my Gido are now together watching over us all.
