Marjorie E. White (née Welsh)

August 19, 1927 - December 24, 2024

Marge passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 97, with family by her side. She was predeceased in 2002 by her husband Buzz White, sisters Fern (Bill), Dorothy (Lyle), Ruby (Fred), and brother Don (survived by sister-in-law Betty Ann, living in Peterborough, On).

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children Carol (Jim) Campanella, Anne (Rod) Bayliss, Paul (Joy) White, Debbie (Gary) Good, and Lynda (Rick) Bernst; 14 grandchildren Gabriel, Dan, David, Mark, Paula, Simon, Graham, Chris, Lynnea, Sarah, Tyler, Michelle, Alex and Julia; and 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mom was born in Exeter, Ontario. She met Dad when they both worked for Bell Canada in London, Ontario. Through their 54-year marriage, they moved to Toronto, Montreal, and then Ottawa before returning to London. Wherever they lived, they were involved in their church and made many life-long friends there and in their neighbourhoods. Although busy at home, Mom always had time to volunteer and took on many leadership positions. Mom’s interests included travel, golf, bridge, sewing, and singing in choirs, but family was always her priority. She grew up in a loving family and then raised one of her own. She felt very fortunate and knew she’d been blessed with good friends, loving family and good health. She will be greatly missed.

Many thanks to Marian Zehr and Mary Benson, special friends and caregivers to mom.

Visitation will be held at Byron United Church, 420 Boler Rd, London, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., followed by her Celebration of Life and reception at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be held in the summer in a family service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, Byron United Church, or a charity of your choice.
