Marion Howlett (née McCallum)
March 11, 2025
At Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Marion Jessie Howlett (née McCallum) of London and formerly of Lambeth, at the age of 94.
Marion was the cherished wife of the late Stuart Howlett for 63 years. Dearly loved mother of Linda and her husband, Dan McNeil, of London and the late Janet Howlett-Tomè. Adored grandmother of Mark and his wife Kyla McNeil of Ancaster and Erin and her husband Patrick Allain of St. Thomas. Very loved great-grandma of Jade and Holly McNeil and Jason Allain. Dear sister-in-law of Bill Howlett. Dear sister of her late siblings, Isabel Epps (Ellwood), Lois Niblock (George) and Jim McCallum (Marge). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Marion was a teacher by profession in Caledonia, Komoka and Byron. She continued to always find “teachable moments” in her love of her family, gardening, sewing, music, nature and travel. Her love for and pride of her family was endless. Her strength and fortitude, independence and resilience served her well for her entire life.
Our family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful caregivers that Marion had at Oakcrossing Retirement Home. We especially thank Dr. M. Tancio and the care team at Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their kind, compassionate and exceptional care.
The celebration of Marion’s life will occur at a later date, with the Reverend Michael DeKay officiating.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marion are asked to consider the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.

Although I was only an Elder for Marion for a short time, I always appreciated her interest and engagement with a variety of things, along with her emotional honesty. I know that she and Stu were long-time members of Byron United Church and did great things for the betterment of the Kingdom of God. May He welcome her home with open loving arms.
My deepest sympathy to you all. I have happy memories of your parents when we were joint with the Sharon Church. I also occasionally rode the bus from Lewis Corners to London with your mom when she was teaching and I was going to Teacher’s College. That’ll a long time ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
