Uncle Dave, Aunt Pat, Mariss, Jesse, Lee and families, I wish so much I could be with you today. Just as I was leaving Orillia, the extreme weather warning for today and tomorrow was brought to my attention. I wanted so much to be there both to support your family, who have always been so special to me, and also to celebrate Marie, who was an amazing lady. She was the epitome of elegance and refinement and was a real inspiration in terms of clean living. The care she took to eat well, walk often and maintain her independence translated into a life well lived for 98 years. This vitality allowed even her great grandchildren to know her and have special memories that will last their lifetime. She was extraordinarily lucky as well to have the son she had. Uncle Dave, I've never seen anyone more devoted, even taking into account that it is your nature to help everyone around you all the time. I wish I could be there to hug all of you and say goodbye to Marie but know that all of you are in our thoughts. Our deepest condolences. Love, Tim, Jennifer, Madeleine and Eva xoxo

Dear David, Pat, Marissa, Jesse, Lee and families: My sincere condolences on your loss. In the forty plus years that we have been close friends, I have met and had lovely chats with Marie on many occasions. What I have witnessed has been the unconditional love, kindness and support that she received from each of you. May it bring you comfort to know how you enriched her life in so many ways during both her good, healthy times and her times of health challenges and needs. She was truly blessed with a loving family. Keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers.

To my awesome friends, Dave and Pat: Dave, I have quite a few nice memories of time spent with your Mom. When she was at your house for a special occasion (and there were many - birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas) I would walk across the street and have a chat. She was like a breath of fresh air - upbeat and friendly. One Christmas Eve dinner was especially memorable because Don was in palliative care and Pat invited me to join in on your family dinner. Of course, your Mom was a part of it all and she kept me in the Christmas spirit despite my sad circumstances. Please add my good memory to all of yours and know that she was a fine person. You will miss her.
