Marie Eleanor (Annett) Goldhawk was born on December 9, 1928 in Cairo, Ontario and passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in London, Ontario. Daughter of the late Stanley and Barbara (Munro) Annett. Dearest wife of the late Don Goldhawk. Loving mother of Jim and Felicia Goldhawk, Pleasanton, California; Donna Goldhawk and Kevin White, London; Nancy Haldane, Kitchener; Gary and Robin Goldhawk, Danville, California; Mark and Laura Goldhawk, Sunol, California. Adored grandmother of Christopher and Anthony; Ashley, Adam, Sam and Patrick; Camille and Claire; Danny, Erica and Jeremy. Survived by sisters-in-law Betty Annett, Watford and Lois Goldhawk, Burlington and brother-in-law Lyle Goldhawk and wife Margaret, Blenheim. Marie trained at the London Normal School and taught in both one room schoolhouses in rural southwestern Ontario as well as Rosedale Elementary School in Toronto. She was a devoted homemaker, a loyal and generous friend, a good neighbour and a proud citizen. Marie developed a strong interest in improving the understanding of mental health disorders, including schizophrenia and neurodegenerative disease. Marie was salt for the earth; she will be truly missed by friends and family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. GEORGE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Ridgetown. Mrs. Goldhawk was my grade 2 teacher at the old Rosedale School: it was replaced by a new building in about 1957. I remember Mrs. Goldhawk being a quiet, thoughtful woman. I believe she was pregnant that year. She had very dark hair but this picture looks like her! We never considered that our teachers had first names in those days! I'm glad to see that "Marie" had a long, happy life and a big family. I'm a teacher too--45 years--and I'm now nearly 70: it's hard to believe. I'm very sorry for your loss. RIP, Marie.
So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. It is hard to lose a parent but I hope you will recall many happy memories whenever you think of her.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Marie. She was truly one of a kind, a loving, compassionate and beautiful lady. She will be missed in the "Goldhawk " family. Our condolences to her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Through the years, Marie contacted me periodically to touch base on news or updates regarding the Munro family. I was always impressed by her very real concern for others. We discussed our shared interests in family history & my professional work in mental health. At this time, our sincere thoughts are with the Goldhawk & Annett families.
So very sorry to hear of Marie's passing. Marie was an active yoga participant in my classes (Can Do Yoga) for years. She started shortly after her husband passed away, and continued right up until the end of July 2017 when the classes ended. I (and we) always enjoyed and appreciated Marie's presence. She had so much to offer, and also delighted in whatever new information came her way. We last saw her in September 2017 when she joined us in St. Joseph's for a class get together to see how everyone was doing. It is hard to imagine that she is longer with us, and most importantly, with you. She always spoke fondly of the members of her family. Do hold your memories close. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am very sad to hear of Marie's passing. I was her neighbour until I moved to Leamington in 2006. We kept in touch via email and the occasional phone call plus we tried to have a yearly lunch in Erieau. That didn't happen as often as we would have liked but I did see her in the late summer of 2016 at Molly and OJ's. That get-together was followed by sharing many laughs sitting on one of the benches on the boulevard. I had emailed her on June 14 and when I didn't hear back, I assumed she was in California visiting family. A mutual friend was kind enough to be in touch with the sad news. I'm glad to have such wonderful memories of our last get-together. Marie was a kind and gentle woman. She was an excellent neighbour and a very good friend. I will miss her.
We just now found out about Marie and are quite saddened to hear about her passing. Knowing Marie over the past 15 years has been a real honour and pleasure. A very lovely friendly lady. She will be missed. Our deepest condolences to Marie's entire family. RIP dear Marie Fritz and Milka
