Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 in her 87th year. Maria was born in Bomba, Italy on May 14, 1926. She married Salvatore Di Carlo in 1950 in Italy. Salvatore and Maria came to Canada and settled in London, Ontario where Maria worked for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital. After she retired, she travelled and spent many winters in Florida but she especially enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family. Beloved wife of Salvatore Di Carlo. Loving mother of Donato Di Carlo and his wife Cynthia. Cherished grandmother of Nicole. Dear sister of Donato Vitullo (Carmela) of Argentina and sister-in-law of Nicola Di Carlo (Julia) of Italy, Giacomo Di Carlo (Lina) of London, Carlo Di Carlo (Anna) of London. Predeceased by siblings Giacomo Vitullo (Domenica) and Concetta Vitullo (Rosario). Missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and extended family. Great friend of Bernice Fradgely and the late Jack Fradgely. Special thank you to Dr. Dulay and staff at 6th floor Victoria Hospital. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Divine Parish, 390 Base Line Road West, London, on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment, St. Peter’s Holy Family Mausoleum. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Maria are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society.

Sam and Don, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife and mother. We were blessed to have you as neighbours on Base Line Rd. W. for many, many years. You were the most wonderful neighbours and we remember you all fondly. My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time.
