Margaret Jane McMurray

December 16, 2014

It is with sadness but with rejoicing of our hearts of Mom’s passage to Heaven.  Born November 20, 1940 and leaving our hearts but not our memories on December 16, 2014.  Grampa (George), Nana (Christine) and Uncle Terry are in Heaven to welcome her and lead her to God in Heaven.  Mom is going to Heaven to guide and love Sarah too.  Mom (Margaret) leaves behind her son James, her daughter Carolyn (son-in-law Paul Dagg), her daughter Jennifer (son-in-law Brian Kendel) as well as her grandchildren Rachelle, Dylan, and Tyler.  She also leaves behind her brother Joe (Vaike).  It has been a long journey towards her rebirth to Heaven.  Next time you hear thunder, know it is Mom hitting that tennis ball at rocket speed!!!  Her tenacity, strength and wisdom will always be a part of us.  A piece of Mom will always be in us and to those she has met and encountered.  Her radiance of positive energy preceded her entrance to a room and influenced those who knew her to embrace and celebrate the woman she was.  A memorial service will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Margaret are asked to consider the charity of their choice or pay it forward to someone they love.

James, Carolyn and Jennifer our deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. Aunt Marg will be missed by everyone that she touched over her years of teaching and by you her cherished children. Remember all the good times you have had as she is still with you and looking out for you now from above. Prayers and strength is being sent to you from our side of the family. Geoffrey and Riley McMurray

Mrs. McMurray was my gym teacher and gymnastics coach during high school years. Dynamic, positive, kind are the words I would use to describe her during those 5 impressionable years. Because of her I gained self confidence and the "how to" to focus and set goals. Thank you Mrs. McMurray for the gifts you shared. Hugs

My sincerest condolences to you, James, and your entire family during this time. May all of the memories you have of your mother live through your hearts.

I had the privilege of caring for Margaret. She was a joy and a delight. She brought love and laughter wherever she went. Her wit and humour never left. She will truly be missed.

There are a few people in this world who are just plain special...and Marg was certainly one of them. She radiated happiness and a love of life from the moment she entered a room and somehow always made you feel like you were just the person she wanted to see. I have so many fond memories of her on the tennis court, whamming balls with competitive joy, and I am a better person for having known her. She left us way too soon, but will forever be in our hearts...

I was honoured to have met Marg and have her become part of my life. She touched my life like no one has in a life time. Marg will never be forgotten, she will live on forever in our hearts.

My deepest condolences for your loss. I remember Marg from the tennis courts, a great competitor but also a lot of fun. I had the pleasure of playing golf with her also a few times and remember the day she took off her shoes ,as she was having a bad day ,so she decided just to walk the rest of the way and enjoy the feel of the grass between her toes.....so Marg.

Carolyn, Jennifer, and James: Just a quick note to say that, at the celebration of Marg's life, it was really evident that she touched the hearts and lives of so many people. Please know that this didn't stop when she came to long term care. I'm sure I speak for my afternoon shift coworkers when I say that it was an honour and a privilege to not only help care for your Mom but, to know her and get a small glimpse of the wonderful person she was. It was a real blessing to see the legacy she has passed down to the family. A legacy of caring, being care free, and seeing the humour in situations. (to name a few). We'll carry with us not only great memories of Marg but, of the love that you all have for her. P.S.: Whenever I hear "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones I'll remember all of you. (from the end of the memorial)
