Peacefully at Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll, on Saturday, January 15th, 2011, Lorne Black in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Carol (Tapp) Black. Dear father of Tom Black, Sheri Black and step-father of Brian Watson and his wife Christine. Loving grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. The funeral service will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, January 19th , 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Cremation to follow with private family interment of ashes at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lorne are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation – Cancer Program. Dear Carol. We have met you often over the years during (Tapp) get-togethers. Always enjoyed your company and sense of fun. Then, along came Lorne. Lorne was so friendly, inclusive, kind, and had a fine sense of humour. You both fit so well together. Deepest condolences to you and the family. Hope to see you in the near future. Lorne was truly a good man. I will always remember him as a kind, and genuine person. Always friendly and willing to assist you in what ever you needed. He will be greatly missed.
I knew Lorne for most of my younger days and always had great respect for him. He had a great sense of humor, competitive in nature and loved to play cards. My condolences to all.

I too, am saddened to hear the passing of Lorne Black. I had the pleasure working with Lorne when he was a constable with the Woodstock City Police Force. He was a go-getter and had a keen eye for details when he was an officer. I learned a lot from him. It was a great pleasure to have worked with him. My sincere condolences to his family.

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to Lorne's family on his illness and passing. His professionalism, dedication and comradeship will be missed by all of us here at the Town of Markham. It was a privilege to know and work with him. I was thinking yesterday of the evening a group of us, including Lorne, went to a Blue Jays game in Toronto. I didn't know a lot of the officers very well then and Lrone really made me feel welcome and at ease and a part of the "team". I would like to pass along my condolences with Lornes passing. I recall growing in Woodstock and Lorne being a fixture with the Woodstock Police. He directed many a youth with a very positive and engaging personality. RIP Lorne.

Our sincere condolences on Lorne's passing. We went to school with Lorne and remember when he joined the force in Woodstock. He was always a positive person and it showed when he was on the job and in his personal life as well. He was well respected and will be missed.
